Hmmm. Do dorm visitation hours apply to coaches?
Tennessee can’t be mistaken for a basketball school just yet (maybe after they start out 1-3 in football), but the improvement of their basketball team over the past few years had them flexing their muscles – especially after their SEC title last year, their first since 1967. But, hold the diss tracks, B-Maze. Bruce Pearl says that the SEC title still runs through Lexington, although he did add a little disclaimer at the end saying that Tennessee is “still on I-75”.
Whether this was just Pearl trying to put Garmin out of business or just taking a little jab cleverly disguised as humility, you can add this on to the growing confidence in what could be a surprisingly good basketball team this year. We don’t know just how good they are yet or how the point guard play will be, but when you take this, Dick Vitale’s top-25 ranking and praise, and a solid report from the pickup game this weekend, it’s hard not to get a little pumped about the looming hoops season.
UPDATE: I just noticed that this article is older than most of Pearl’s girlfriends, but oh well. My point remains the same. Fear the Cats.
