Braxton “Honey Nut” Berrios cutting his list to five today

rec_e_berrios_400

Four-star wide receiver Braxton Berrios is trimming his list to five today. He’s been a big target for Mark Stoops, the staff, and the 2014 commitments, and has offers from the following schools: Kentucky, Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Harvard, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, NC State, Northwestern, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Yale. He’s also received interest from Georgia, Missouri, Ohio State and Oregon.

If we call a commitment “Yahtzee,” what do we call making the cut? “Boggle”?

“what do we call making the cut?”

This could be a separate thread!

Harvard and Yale? Sounds like this guy will get it done on the field and in the classroom!

If we keep getting all the recruits, how long before we yell “monopoly”?

So – five schools vs 20 or whatever. Still hasn’t committed. He won’t come here as Stoop’s staff doesn’t have enough of that $3 million left in the coffers. Had to give most of that to Stanley “Boom” Williams…..

    6. He can use football to get into Harvard or Yale, where maybe he would have come up a bit short of being accepted just on academics alone (I’m just assuming he doesn’t have 1600 on SAT and couldn’t get in on his own). If that’s the case, he should choose one of those two schools. NFL is a long shot for anybody, much less for an undersized wide receiver. Harvard / Yale make a huge difference in the potential for lifetime earnings.

@#3, good one! @#4, you really should change your name there! I think “MadTexULTroll” fits better. All you need to concern yourself with there buddy is this: “The Miami drama continues. I don’t know what will happen to Miami, but with Clint Hurtt’s behavior, it seems to me that he doesn’t have much hope on his side:
Louisville football assistant coach Clint Hurtt, facing allegations of receiving and providing impermissible benefits and the dreaded 10.1 rule of unethical conduct for providing false and misleading information during the investigation (Hill and Fernandez were also charged with unethical conduct), was one of the last people to enter the room.”.
There, now don’t ya feel better?!

And you would think that Charlie would have enough sense to make it officially “FORMER Louisville assistant coach Clint Hurtt” by now?! The longer there is a continued association with Hurtt and UL, the worse it looks for the latter. Just sayin.

jealousy absolutely turns other fans into trolling morons. We (UK) really should get royalties from that.

Me predicted final 5 for this kid:
Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Clemson, & …. gonna go with Virginia Tech but that was a close call. I think with this kid being from NC, he may want to try to be the guy for one of his home state schools or possibly come try to be the next great slot at WVU, but I’m still sticking with my top 5 prediction.

    4) The paying the players argument wasn’t creative for the basketball players, and now you are using it for the football team? Classic scared UofL fan.

I think in this instance Hi-Ho Berrios (Cherry) would be a fitting board game.

Interesting that he is a four star, but the list of offers doesn’t seem as impressive as some of the 3 stars I’ve seen. Are these top schools turned off by his superior intellect? I hope we get him.
