“Boone’s Butcher Shop” Injury Report: Terrence Jones

As we saw in the live stream, Terrence Jones was limited in yesterday’s practice and “Don’t reach in on Terrence!!!” was one of our favorite Calipari practice quotes on the live blog. Terrence and his injured pinky will give it another go today and how he practices will determine whether or not he plays against Lamar tomorrow night.

Kentucky will practice twice today and then Calipari and the staff will make a decision.

This update was brought to you by Boone’s Butcher Shop.

I say hold him out unless UK is getting beat up on the glass (which I don’t expect). Cannot take chances for the UL game … and I think an extra couple of days for TJ would be good.

Do you need a pinky finger to go bowling? I’m also looking for an excuse.

I say most definitely err on the side of caution. We *shouldn’t* need him against Lamar but that probably won’t be true on Saturday.

You know Pitino will have the Dirty birds “reaching in on Terrence” early, hard and often.

Boone’s Butcher Shop should make T-Shirts. I’d buy one.

I say we rest TJ until SEC play. The Tards are not good and are probably the most overrated team in the country. They WILL loose their game tomorrow and this weekend. The Tards will soon start falling down the polls faster than BCG can down a 40oz.

If the prospect of the pro scouts questioning Jones’ toughness and mental maturity are not enough to get his attention and light a fire under his ass, then I don’t know what is.

TJ’s problem is the same as last year, HE DOESNT LIKE PHYSICAL CONTACT OF ANY SORT. Same thing last year, he would hide from the contact, bump him in practice, push him around, dont make any calls and let him learn to play that way and not sulk if he doesnt get a call his way. If he plans on playing in the NBA better to learn it now than later. Yet when he does play physical on occasion he is very tough to handle and not many opponents can handle him. Hold him out till UL, pound on him in practice, embrarras him a bit and challenge him to come out and play like he is supposed to.

How can one be that large of a human being and that soft as well. It doesn’t make sense.
