One great thing about Cal’s system…we have one down year and are back the very next year. IU doesn’t have that luxury. They finally have a good team, don’t win it, everyone graduates, takes 3 years to get a good team again.
The fact is, Crean and them have never seen a 2-3 zone anything of Syracuse’s quality. They are just playing it great and using their length to a tremendous advantage. It’s the same thing they did against Louisville in the first half of the Big East championship game, but Louisville was able to break up the game in the second half and Syracuse couldn’t settle into their zone as much. Syracuse is going to get to the championship game IMO. I don’t know if they’ll win, but they’ll be there.
So are this year’s IU Sweet 16 rings going to be bigger than last years? After all, isn’t 2 sweet 16’s better than 1? lol

It’s a shame that younger UK fans don’t remember Caywood. Before the 90s, UK basketball was usually not live on TV, including NCAA games. If you wanted to keep track of UK games, you listened to Caywood Ledford. He became UK basketball to most of us. I still miss hearing “Beauty”

I remember listening to that final call by Cawood. I was 12-years-old and was devastated from the loss. My dad had the radio on and I remember Coach K coming on and offering those words of condolences. I thought at the time how classy that was of him to do that. Even though he can be easily hated at times, I must say Coach K is a special dude (if only he wasn’t coaching Puke).

I was in fraternity house watching the 92 duke game along with 20 others having a blast. When duke hit the winning shot everyone was crushed… then someone cussed and threw a beer bottle through a window pane. The glass with left with the bottle imprint, kinda like you would see in the cartoon. For a moment everyone forgot about the game and focused on the window… where were you for “the game”

After Laettner hit that shot in the ’92 game, the entire party (12-15 people) went silent for a solid minute. Everyone was speechless. That is the only time in my life I have experienced that eery group silence for any length of time.
