As you can see, Matt finally found a co-host that will allow him to talk as much as he thinks he should (just kidding, but not really). El Capitan Jones will be reappearing around these parts at some point today I believe but, in the meantime, I’ve been asked to let all of you eager future internet stars that the finalists for this round of the Who Wants to Be a Blogger contest will be announced on Wednesday. We had 195 entrants into this year’s contest and someone or a group of someones will be narrowing it down to a number between 1 and 194. Actually, I’d expect to have around 15 or so. I think that’s what we had last time. So, if you think you’ve got a good shot of making the final cut, tune in Wednesday for your next assignment.
A couple of late afternoon links:
– Beast Pilgrim, fresh off a visit to Memphis, says he wants a chance to go at Calpari and UK. Pilgrim also says he hopes the NCAA grants him a waiver to play this year. If they don’t they should be beaten severely.
– Today is Calipari’s 90th day on the job – a marker he set for himself at the beginning of his tenure. Brett Dawson has a great write-up on what’s going on with the team right now.
– The good Dr. Tipton informs us that Bruce Pearl says Calipari has raised the bar in the SEC and that it will make everyone better.
– Jason King of Rivals thinks Jodie Meeks has a great shot at having a long, productive NBA career
That should cover things at the moment. Make sure you check Wednesday to see if you’ve advanced in the blogger contest and if you’re one-step closer to having Matt go on television and pawn his love for the movie Ladybugs off on you (still answering questions about that). Bribe proposals can be sent to [email protected].
