Blackmon Jr. has an offer

blackmon-jr

Well that didn’t take long.

The newly available James Blackmon Jr. has an offer from Kentucky, according to his father.  James Blackmon Sr., a former Wildcat, told The Herald-Leader his son received a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky and will likely take an official visit to Lexington in the future.

Tom Crean wasn’t available for comment, but I bet he’s thinking about it a lot. A whole lot.

Well, I’d say we definitely sign him. No sources, no inside info, just seems to be that way.

Hoosier4 life, IU recruits contact UK after they realize they made a bad mistake. They have a desire to play for an elite program!

@3 Yeah, recruiting at UK is getting “tough”….. It’s okay, Crean will build IU into a contender again in 3 or 4 years.

Why go to Indiana when you can play major college basketball?

@3 . . . because he can is a good enough reason. Just to make certain that CTC (as you refer to him) knows he is a distant second and always will be.

That’s just funny as *H*T whether he ever plays, contributes, doesn’t or otherwise, I would have loved to have been a fly on Crean’s wall when this news broke. Priceless.

    17) No “going to”. UK already has when Cal wouldn’t give in to Crean’s unreasonable (given his bargaining position) that the UK/IU games be played on campus. UK has moved on just fine, IU not so good.

It would be cool to have another 2nd gen Cat in the house! That translates to automatic fan favorite!

I see Blackmon Jr.’s ‘defection’ as a small bump in the road for the Hoosiers as they try and finish in the top tier of the Big Something conference this year.

And if they achieve their goal, you can bet their hysterical compulsion to celebrate anything, will make New Year’s Eve seem like a Yoga Meditation class.

Why are IU fans so bitter? you have been to the sweet 16 a couple times in the past couple years, thats pretty good for you guys.

IU shouldn’t worry…Crean will find a way to cut down some nets and give out rings every year.

#4 … no one is gong after IU recruits. Your “commits” just realized, after taking a silkwood shower, that it took said shower to wash the creepiness known as Tom Crean off of them. Plus I suspect they realized how dorky those candy stripe warmups are. Anyone with a functioning brain cell would not be caught dead in those.
Oh, and no matter how hard you beg, cry or scream… we ain’t playin’ ya. You blew it!

IU fans….he wants a championship ring. Not a sweet 16 ring and popcorn box. Its seems like the football team gets 2nd generation players every few years but its very rare to get 2nd gen basketball players. Especially ones that are ranked as high. Usually they end up being walk-on material.

I vividly recall James Blackmon Sr. at UK. He was a great player in high school, but tried to play out of position as a point guard for Joe B. and sorta got messed up. He played better under Eddie. If his son has a similar game as Sr., then Blackmon Jr. would be a great fit for Cal and the cats. This is exciting news!

#4…Tell CTC that Cal will let him know who he can recruit. CTC needs to be patient and stop trying to rush Cal. Why don’t you go steal some recruits from IUPUI?

Some things in life are just a no no…playing in a glorified high school gym with corny warm-ups for a coach who look like a serial killer? I’m surprised they can field a basketball team.

35 Joe are you butt hurt? Ha! Cal doesn’t have to pay his players. The NBA pays them. Now put on your Sweet 16 t-shirt and go back down into your mom’s basement.

I know that Creen will never be a Coach like Cal. We will be glad to take the second and third tier players. And I just love our Candy Cane outfits. So tasteful. At least we will be in Christmas spirits with the Canes on our pants. I know there feminine but after all we are IU.

Why do recruits decommit and then want to come to Kentucky? Because they want a better deal. Sometimes they commit early and then their stock shoots up, and let’s face it they would rather be in Lexington.

To all the Hoosier fans: Why do recruit players that decommit? BECAUSE WE CAN (suckle it)
