Good Morning. Everything going ok with you all? Nothing big happened last night, right? Stuff is still cool? Awesome. Obviously, the big news out there centers around one former UK guard and a laser-like focus of one news outlet that was so intent on finding a story that it makes you wonder if John McCain had selected Bledsoe as his VP candidate. I have nothing to add to the conversation (especially in light of Matt’s excellent synopsis last night and the Andy Katz story at ESPN) other than to say that it is really freaking weird that the NYT insists on using periods for every acronym. N.B.A.? N.C.A.A.? It is distracting. On to the links:
-Charlie Strong is apparently serving up fruit or something? Rick Reilly is disappointed in Rick Bozich for not committing to the food angle. He left “when life gives you lemons” , “humble pie”, “sour grapes”, and a cornucopia (see how easy it is) of edible adages on the table (seriously, it is that easy).
-Nice little draft preview video of Patrick Patterson. Did you know that the name Patterson is Scottish for ‘son of Patrick’? So Patrick’s name is really Patrick Son of Patrick. I feel you need to know these things.
-The Celtics advanced to the NBA Finals by whipping up on the Orlando Magic last night. That punk Jason Williams knocked our guy Rajon Rondo to the ground late in the first quarter. Rondo got up slowly, refused to dust himself off, pointed to the stands, then bunted to bring in Willie Mays Hayes for the winning run.
-You know Jodie Meeks is back at UK taking classes. I know Jodie Meeks is back at UK taking classes. Here is a good story about Meeks from UK about Meeks being back at UK taking classes. Also? He talks about watching UK play WVU in the Elite Eight and his interactions with this past season’s freshmen.
–Truthaboutit.net has a collection of quotes from sources regarding Gilbert Arenas playing with John Wall. It also has a weird animated gif that will mesmerize any true UK fan.
-Great article about Victoria Dunlap helping out the kids.
-Indiana Pacer fans would really, really, really like to draft Eric Bledsoe.
We’ll have more the rest of the day. Stick around, won’t you?
