Our fearless leader spoke with Jimmy Dykes just a minute ago and Dykes said to tell the KSR audience that tonight’s phrase is “cautious closeouts.

You have been warned.

About the time Jimmy goes through his “Who’s on the Bus” routine…I announce now…I will vomit.

Vicious cuts, drive thru the nail, cautious closeouts…it’s all ridiculous.

Just do color commentary. No need for the stupid catchphrases.

I don’t think Dykes (or just about anyone who calls games for ESPN) is that bad compared to the gang of idiots who call college games for CBS. At least the guy actually played and coached college basketball, even if some of his points of emphasis are sometimes a bit strange (i.e. the nail).

He’s a total tool, but Jimmy Dykes LOVES UK basketball and is one of UKs biggest fans in the ESPN world. I like him and his catch phrases, he if he does drive me nuts (speaking of that, how’s Miller?)

15…after the last game, he may not have any for sure. It’s not like we are gonna get an in depth medical report from the media on it.

Damn, we have managed to go from Dykes to gonads. Cool. Sexin nursinghomes…bud this has you written all over it. Where ya at?

color commentary has always involved catch phrases. that’s what makes it colorful. al mcguire, joe dean, vitale, bilas, kellogg, raftery…they all have their go-to catch phrases. some of them suck, but most are tolerable. you guys are tough on dykes. especially since he’s a former uk coach.

I will never listen to another game that has Dykes as an announcer. I don’t need that kind of distraction and i find the games more enjoyable if I just concentrate on watching the action without having to listen to people who have the IQ of a tadpole.
