At least Kentucky isn’t last in the SEC power rankings

Ole Miss hung 49 points on Central Arkansas over the weekend but it wasn’t enough for the Rebels to jump Kentucky in’s SEC Power Rankings. The Cats finished one spot ahead of last place at No. 13, behind Vanderbilt.

1. Alabama (1-0): Is true freshman T.J. Yeldon that good? Or were his 10.1 yards per carry in a win over Michigan a product of the nation’s best O-line? Next up: vs. Western Kentucky, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET (SEC Network).

12. Vanderbilt (0-1): The Commodores have to get over the pain of barely missing a landmark win. They’ll score more than 13 against a Northwestern team that gave up 41 to Syracuse. Next up: at Northwestern, Saturday, 8 p.m. ET (Big Ten Network).

13. Kentucky (0-1): QB Max Smith is a keeper, but he’ll have to put up plenty of points to compensate for the Wildcats’ woeful defense, which was on display in a loss to Louisville. Next up: vs. Kent State, Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN3).

14. Ole Miss (1-0): Ole Miss was outgained 237-231 in the first half by FCS school Central Arkansas, proving this defense has a long way to go. Next up: vs. UTEP, 7 p.m. ET (ESPN3).

It’s the small victories in life.

Go Cats.

Not a victory in any way. Much like this fb season will be.

I believe that’s the second time in the last 5 hours that drew has ended a post with ‘it’s the small victories in life’ in a patronizing manner towards the uk football program. It has come to this..

Ole Miss is without a better team than Kentucky. Im a die hard UK fan but if anyone else saw that game you would see they are going to have one of the best quarterbacks in the country next year in Bo Wallace. He had 265 passing yards 2 passing td’s and a rushing td. He also had 95 yards rushing….the only reason they might be behind us in the power rankings is because they have the 2nd hardest schedule in the country behind Notre Dame. They play LSU Alabama and Arkansas on the road and they play Texas at home.

Steveback, sorry I didn’t hear from you about the bet. I got away from the site for a few hours. Would you like to take me up on the 10K bet?
If I win I will give my money to a charity of your choice, not an individual.

How can Barney be so right with his hiring choices for most other coaching positions and yet be so far wrong with Phillips? Think maybe someone has some pix??

Wow! This makes me feel so much better to know about UK…Just think folks,we are not last in a field of 14 ! Then there is Louisville ,not one bit better. If they were in the SEC they would be 13th and we would be 14th. What a moral victory we had yesterday! If we were in the Big East we may be second just behind Lousville. lol

Life is full of unexpected results. For the Cats it was sunday’s performance on the defense and let’s not leave out the officials. The fake punt miss of the facemask penalty is the main event for the officials.

That was a game turning event. Make that 1st down and mighty mo is on the Cats side.

Still the defense needs to learn the basics.

So, will there be improvement next week?
Whenever life has kicked my ass, I figure out what I could do to prevent it happening again.

Can anyone recall Joker showing any emotion, anger, or real displeasure with the course of events unfolding before our eyes yesterday?? I get so upset when they put the camera on the man because rarely does the expression change…same for the mush coming from the lips. He would be a great friend, neighbor, or whatever but as a HC…NO WAY!!

    9) thas true, but Bridgewater didnt play the 2nd half. Strong
showed ZERO concern UK could beat them. I think this UK team will
get better and better though, offensively I was impressed.

#10, did you not see the pics post on this site of Jokers impersonation of his Karen Sypher eyes?

Why was no one upset on the none facemask call on the fake punt?

The BE officials conferred and decided that the coach got too excited about the UL player pulling down the punter by his facemask. WTF?

No way Ole Miss is worse than the UK team that played yesterday.

It is amazing how excited we get about scoring 14 points. We will see 5 or 6 defenses better than that in the SEC. We lost by 18 & it would have been 30 had they not quit playing with more than a quarter left.

We lost badly. Not happy about that. It was against a top 25 team no matter how much we hate them.

Sad and embarrassing comment from Yahoo.Sports…”The final score was 32-14, but it was only that close because Louisville coach Charlie Strong backed off on his friend, embattled Kentucky coach Joker Phillips.”

Barnfart must be proud of his ‘hire’.

    Run ’em both out!

Lazy journalism putting Vanderbilt 12th. They hung with South Carolina (ranked 9th in the country)the entire game. IF they truly are 12th, there is no way we will win a conference game this year.

Yeldon is that good, and so are 4 other Alabama running backs, as well as Alabama as a whole.
