– The media has shown its ugly face multiple times during the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings. Luckily, we still have a few great institutions like the Wall Street Journal giving you everything you need to know about the dramatic showdown that ended yesterday.
– Earlier this week, Cincinnati Reds third baseman Todd Frazier gave us a a story worth smiling about. While Teddy Kramer – a 30 year old with down syndrome- was living a dream as the Red’s batboy for the night. The avid fan asked Frazier to hit him a homerun; ask and you shall receive.
– For those that have ever been caught in a baseball “pickle”, you know it usually doesn’t end well for the runner. This time the catcher got embarrassed when a baserunner stayed in the baseline, ducking beneath a tag to score a run.
– An Athens, TN Chamber of Commerce is really pissing of some Volunteer fans. This year’s Chamber fundraiser is featuring Nick Saban as a keynote speaker, causing the Chamber to receive a few death threats. Add insult to injury, last year’s even that featured Phil Fullmer, Al Wilson, and Peerless Price from the 1998 National Championship team drew a crowd of 276; Saban has already sold 1,324 tickets.

Am I missig something? What does Ashley Judd have to do with these odd articles? Other than her mention of Louisville in a tweet recently, that’s all I can recall. I guess you were successful in baiting me to answer. Old news and has been discussed at length by Matt and others 2-3 weeks ago. Lets move on, please!

The WS Journal is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns the NY Post who put two innocent students on its front page as “Bag Men”, ie the Boston bombers, and Fox which broadcasts bilge every day which are just plain lies. So if the WSJ does manage to do some news right, it’s not unique – don’t support any Murdoch publication. Just Google his testimony in the UK scandal where his papers under direction of his son wiretapped private citizens and how it has almost brought down the government there.
Of course, he actually linked to the NYTIMES, not WSJ or NY Post so you can safely get down off of your soapbox now. All mainstream media distorts and or flat out lies. It’s not unique to Fox or even the WSJ.
Wow! Really! CBS, NBC, or ABC never distort, always ask the hard questions, never let the news makers mis-speak in interviews, etc. Now let’s return to our regular sports programming.

I don’t understand how in the Hades you call the Wall Street Journal a great institution…have you been living in a dark cave…there were many other media sources predicating 2008 financial crisis…WSJ and Fox Business total misinformation that perpetuated the scam. Try sticking with UK sports you are oblivious to what is is going on out side the sports world.

All media outlets that provide misinformation using sensationalism in an attempt to crack the news first, or to increase ratings should be forced to replay what they confirmed to be factual after the real facts come out. When the footage or displays of bad information are finished, they should be forced to apologize for their failure to do their job with integrity.
Is that the same Ashley Judd who is now a militant feminist and against seeing women as a sexual object?
It’s probably best to avoid the disinformation on 24-hour cable news channels and Murdoch-owned newspapers and instead focus on local news. There are many smaller papers that do an excellent job covering their communities, and they don’t cater to the lowest common denominator like Fox News or The Examiner.
Love the UK coverage an insight on sports and recruiting but I worry about our young people that are buying the more gov, less individual rights and the liberal political agenda.
