The score is 35-14 right now with four minutes left in the first half and I am about to do something that I havent done in many years watching Kentucky…..I am going to turn off the game. While I will still tape it (just in case a miracle comes), I think my day would be better spent doing other things.
After the Indiana game a couple of weeks ago, I wrote that it might be the worst performance I had ever seen from the Cats against a good team. Well we should check that, because this is worse. The team is so uninspired, so off of its rhythm that there really is no excuse or explanation for it. I have never seen a Tubby Smith team play with such a lackadaisical attitude at any point during his tenure.
The message boards and talk radio will likely explode with overreaction this aftertoon about how the program is falling apart and changes need to be made. I am not ready to go that far just yet. When Randolph Morris comes back, the team may click and become much better. But a lot of things are happening right now on this team that are a real shame. I dont know what the future holds, but things have the potential, really for the first time in the Tubby Smith era, to get REAL ugly.
