Arsalan Kazemi Considering UK For a Transfer

If you are like me, you believe every team should have as many Iranian Rice basketball players as humanly possible. And along those lines, today is our lucky day. Arsalan Kazemi, the star of a Rice basketball team that showed surprising spunk last season, has decided to transfer from Rice for his Senior season. The 6’7″ Forward averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds a game last year and is also looking at other “high major” schools for his Senior season. Kazemi’s name is one that was linked to UK a couple of times last year (when he last considered transferring) and it will be interesting to see if he becomes the latest wildcard to join what could be next season’s Dream Team.

The NCAA has made a preemptive strike and declared him permanently ineligible for life and is calling immigration as we speak.

Would he be able to play this year? I don’t see in the report when he would be eligible, but it sounds like he would play this season. If he can play this year sign him up. We could always use depth in the front court and he has expeience against top teams and top players. Would not hurt us as we have an open scholly this season anyways.

We already have plenty for next year. I feel good with this team as it is and think its to late to try to add anther player unless they are elite. That being said if Cal wants to add one it’s fine by me. Cal has earned the right to add Porky pig if he deems it neccasary. IN CAL I TRUST

Prefer not to have an Iranian citizen on the roster.

Just watched some highlights of him, he’s actually pretty good. If he can play this year and Cal wants him, then sign him up. That all depends on if he’s okay playing second fiddle to other players.

How much do you know about this man other than he is an Iranian citizen ? Couple of things,,not all Iranians are like that damn fruit loop Ahmadinejad . Those people should rebel and get rid of that idiot before he starts a shooting war that will end up with millions dead. ( Best I remember,,the average Iranian has already tried that,,,with no support from us )

#10, How many Iranians do you actually know? Turn off your Fox News and meet a few before you say something like that. The Iranians that I’ve known over the years are some of the finest human beings that I have ever had the privilege of spending time with. They’re not all Islamic fundamentalists, in fact, most of the ones that I know are about as “Muslim” as the people in Two Keys are “Christian.” An Iranian filmmaker friend spent a week with me here in Seoul last month, and she drank more beer and ate more pork in her short time here in Korea than I’ve consumed in a year.

Did you all ever think that just maybe #10 comes on here just to cause problems and is looking for all your responses? And you all fall for it. The best way to handle someone like that is to ignore. They will go away.

    # 23 What does Fox News have to do with radical and moderate Iranians ?

#10 here. Dont’t you think it would be a little awkward if we go to war with Iran? Yes, I have been around probably more Iranians than anyone on this board. I was an instructor for Iranians many years ago when I was in the Military. Nothing against them. Just don’t think it would be a good situation if the U.S. is at war Iran in the near future. And at this time, it seems likely.

#12 – Isn’t everything we know about any player based off highlight videos or what we hear from other people? I’ve never seen Jabari Parker play, but everyone says he’s good and his highlight videos show signs of him being good. Therefore, I think he’s good, just like this Rice guy seems pretty good.

    # 26,,,Most people do not have anything against Iranians. However they have a complete idiot threatening to wipe Israel off the map and a nuclear weapon is how he is going to try and do it. What he will get in return are multiple warheads from the Israelis and millions will get killed. If there is anything we can do to prevent this,,,we should and that does not include another round of economic sanctions that China and Russia ignore.

You are right 28. Looks like something will happen before the end of the year. Hopefully, the USA will stand behind Israel. The point I was trying to make is that is could be a very uncomfortable situation for this kid to be playing basketball at UK or any other school if a war breaks out with Iran.

I think cal has his team for this year. Adding anyone at this point would be a mistake. Someone like that could hurt team chemestry.

I see your point of course. I think the young man would be fine but there is always some idiot out there in the crowd that would make things uncomfortable for everyone.
