While the world waits for Kentucky’s first 2012 commitment, the usual suspects are continuing to impress. Archie Goodwin has been lighting it up at the Nike Global Challenge and lead his team out of the semi-finals last night. Goodwin has been playing with the “Team USA Midwest,” and had 23 points en route to a 121-101 victory over Team USA West. 23 points may not seem like gargantuan numbers for a top high school recruit, but he did it on 11-19 shooting with most of the misses coming from beyond the three point arc.
Fellow team mate and Kentucky recruit Alex Poythress didn’t have quite as hot a night shooting 2-7 and going 0-1 on getting Coach K in trouble for recruiting violations.
Goodwin and Poythress will play for the championship tonight against Team Canada at 11 pm.
