Anthony Davis, Brad Calipari, and Derrick Rose Want Afternoon Notes

— Coach Cal took his son Brad to Chicago last night on a recruiting trip to see Jabari Parker. The Cals were in the building to see Whitney Young almost pull of an upset against No. 1 Simeon in UIC Pavilion. Parker, the top-ranked player in 2013, had an off-night by his standards, only scoring 15 points with six rebounds and five blocks in the win.

—Jerry Meyers of Rivals.com believes Kentucky is the leader for Shabazz Muhammad. “My take is that the current leader for Muhammad is Kentucky,” Meyer wrote in his weekly column. “Muhammad is always looking to expand his game and take it to another level, and my impression is that he thinks the Kentucky system is the best system for him to develop his game.” UCLA was believed to be the leader heading into the season but Ben Howland’s team’s poor play appears to be affecting Shabazz’s interest in the Bruins.

— Who is ready to see Jarnell Stokes for Tennessee? Stokes is eligible to lose right away for the Vols. I mean play right away. I meant to say play, not lose. They lose a lot, though.

Have the seats in the Eruption Zone been selling out the past few games since they opened them to the general public? I was thinking about making the trip for the game next Wednesday with my wife and two daughters, and was wondering if we stand a decent chance of landing tickets if we drive up there an hour or so before the game.

    4. They have been pretty full, but I think if you got their an hour early you would get good tickets.

I’m with KYHunt12. Gotta wonder if that’s just a “we before me” reminder or evidence of a rift. I’ll go with the reminder until we hear otherwise.

#4, according to Matt, you have to be at Rupp Arena 1 & 1/2 hours before the game to get the 5$ Erupption Zone tickets

I just hope the players are listening to what Cal is preaching to them. Sometimes I think this group of players is not playing well together as team, other times they do fine though so maybe its just me.

Can I go ahead and put $10000 down on Terrence Jones being responsible for #1 & #3 on Cal’s chalkboard?

Who knew our season would hinge of Terrence “Fragile” Jones.

#6,#8 – how many eruption zone tickets are available, and how quickly do they usually sell out? Thanks!

#14, you can put as much as you want, and on whom you want. If it makes you happy then do so.

Terrence is welcome back – once his injured digit, and his mind, heals.

‘Our season hinges’ – on the existing KENTUCKY roster.

I’m more worried about Doron, Michael K-G, Ant Davis, Darius, Eloy (and more Eloy) and KYle Wiltjer – plus everyone else – stepping up ‘every day’ and ‘every game’.

When Terrence Jones returns, better, they will all be better.

Actually, Cal is smarter than Drew. He wrote, “3 Fights We Face”, not “3 Fight’s We Face.” Why the heck would you stick that apostrophe in there? You not only changed the quote but you used poor grammar to do so. Fail.
