Anthony Bennett picks UNLV

No surprise here, but it looks like Anthony Bennett has decided to stay close to home and suit up for the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels next season. He chose UNLV over Oregon after cutting UK and Florida from his list in the last couple weeks. See you in the tournament. Maybe.

If that is the only school you can get into, that’s where you have to go! We will see him again four years from now!

I’m not bashing the kid, I wish him the best of luck. But this is a stupid decision. He must not like being on television.

Wanted the kid at UK, but I won’t go talking trash about him. From what Matt has said, sounds like UK and Florida both had some qualms. We’ll be fine.

cmon now, you guys act like there is no possible way to get into the NBA without coming to UK. I think we backed off him due to academics but cmon get over yourself just a little. Like Cal says, UK is not for everyone, this years group has the ultimate pressure on them due to last years group.

Not everyone who doesn’t choose UK is an “idiot.” However, this kid must have chosen to stay close to home over playing for a national championship and playing on national television on a regular basis. Different things matter to different people.

#10. You are the IDIOT and probably a redneck as well. We don’t need you on this site or a part of BBN either.

If you’re going to trash the guy, consider finding a new team to root for. UK doesn’t need that kind of fan associated with it.

    Best of luck to Anthony.

Good luck, Anthony! There is no reason for any of us to question your decision beyond what amounts to water cooler discussion. It was a choice for you and your family alone. I for one, wish you the very best!

Beyond that, I’m getting the impression that some of the same fools who embarrassed the BBN when Bennett cut UK are hanging around here today. Maybe it’s time for some IP traces, satellite photos ISP contacts and phone calls to get some peoples’ attention.

Idiots…why don’t you get off here, go out somewhere, and burn a couch or two.

Good Luck Anthony! A tough life lesson but at least you’ll get to learn first hand the negative side effects of fear.

Having had the severe displeasure of being forced to attend/consult on a class at UNLV I feel sorry for the kid. NOT because he is playing basketball there but because he has to live at that abandon, rock desert, commuter university. Outside of the adult wonderland that is the strip is a hell hole of desert weirdos, abandonment, and 3rd strike Cali offenders. One would think if given the choice of traditional campus experience vs abandoned desert sprawl, one would pick the campus but then again applying traditional logic to teenage athletes is a bit ridiculous. I am also wondering when the NCAA and various “journalist” will being showing up at Findlay Prep to investigate a prep-stars move from Brampton, ON, Canada to Vegas to his recruitment by UNLV but I guess that would soften their boner for all things Calipari.
