Another name to consider on election night

It’s election night, and I am sure you all are glued to your TV and/or computer screens to keep up to date on what’s next for our country’s future. Despite all the social media posts you see that may drive you crazy, this day has been brought to you by the colors red, white, and blue. Gotta love ‘Merica.
However, this post isn’t about a new name for the election. Instead, let’s briefly talk the football coaching search. KSR-alum Tyler Montell penned this piece advocating Kliff Kingsbury as UK’s next head football coach. To be fair, I hadn’t even considered this option, but I think Tyler makes an interesting case — Let’s look at his reasoning before you switch back to MSFOXNBC or what have you. Tyler gives us three reasons to select Kliff:

(*faux-hawk is not listed as one of his reasons)
1) He’s 33 years old: Kliff Kingsbury is not an old person. He wears V-Neck tee shirts and Oakley Wayfarers (questionable) and styles his hair like from Charlie Tweeder from Varsity Blues. The last time Kentucky gambled on a young, up and coming coach from A&M, it didn’t work out so well. It’s risky, I get it. But let’s own that.
[…]
2) He Develops Talent: Joker Phillips was promoted in 2010 in part because of his ability to recruit and develop talent. In 2013, Kentucky will have just fifteen Seniors on a very young squad. Obviously, Kentucky needs to bring in a guy who can cultivate and develop young players and, at least in the beginning, develop 2 and 3-star recruits.
[…]
3) #AirRaidEverything: Kliff Kingsbury played under the head pirate himself, Mike Leach at Texas Tech from 1998-2002, where he passed for over 12,000 yards and 95 touchdowns. Kingsbury was drafted in 2003 by the New England Patriots where he won a Super Bowl.
Tyler clearly left off the very important reason #4 to hire Kliff: he landed both Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. And that, my friends, deserves a Citizen Kane clap.
This rest of his blog post elaborates on the reasoning. Check it out, even if just for the sake that he used to write for your beloved KSR. I am not educated enough to say this is the right call, but I think this is another very interesting idea to keep in mind. However, I am sure Mitch and company are already knee-deep in candidates and they aren’t looking to our website for ideas. Or are they…?
Nah. Go Cats. And an obligatory “U! S! A!” for good measure.

He banged both Simpson and Spears! Sign him up
What about the cheating basketball players at Indiana? Where is that story KSR?
Hell, why not?
This is the guy that the CBS guys were recommending on Monday, about time someone on KSR mentioned him!
Pretty sure we could hire Mitt Romney – he’s gonna be looking for a job in a few hours.
About time we hired another coach who will end up naked in a pool into the wee hours of the night.
Really 5, last I heard Mitt has plenty if money, isn’t that what the Liberals are always crying about? The President’s salary would be a step down for him. Better luck next time being funny!
*of
Just saw on ESPN ticker a couple of IU players suspended for improper benefits. And Cal is the cheater?!?!?! Nice work there Hoosiers!
Indiana basketball player Peter Jurkin (hehe) suspended for illegal benefits. Was that one of the players that Tom Crean was thinking about? A Whole Lot!!
Oakley doesn’t make wayfarers, but it sure sounded cool.
This guy has been an assistant coach for four years. First at Houston then at a&m. He would be a great OC but to make this guy a HC at an SEC program with four years of college coaching experience would be professional suicide for the UK admin. Because when he goes 0-16 in his first 16 SEC games he will be fired along with the Barnhart and probly Eli too.
#11 –> they call them ‘Frogskins’ but I thought ‘Wayfarers’ would be more descriptive. Pull my man card though, I deserve it.
leach wasnt hired at texas tech til ’00. go to know ksrcollege still doest give a s*** about facts
#7 – If you’re a Republican and you voted for Mitt, then you have no say in what is or is not funny (other than your horrible, flip-flopping candidate). Go back to reading Peanuts and Doonesbury. Most Republicans find those to be real “knee slappers.”
If those two IU freshman played for UK, they’d have been banned for the entire season. Or it would have been “delayed” until after the season was over with and we would have had to forfeit the entire season. Unbelievable.
I was saying this the other day. He would also give us a huge connection in Texas.
While we’re at it, why don’t we consider Mike Hartline for head coach. Or I think I overheard a freshman in the food court talking football. Sounded like he knew what he was talking about. He could relate to the recruits!!!!!
1-6 LOL #7 suck one
#19 – Don’t hate. This state is full of political retards. I can’t help that they voted the wrong way.
Wait, I’m drunk. #19 was agreeing with me. Shit, I don’t know. I can’t deal with politics sober.
IF he banged both Britney and Jessica then we should have hired him Sunday. No need to interview him, just hire him! I guarantee there are no other coaches out there that can say that!
WT, man card reinstated…I liked the frogskin comeback!!
wait wait wait, are we talking hot Britney and hot Jessica, or crazy Britney and fat Jessica? Cause that makes a difference.
Bobby Petrino banged both of them too and he has seniority so he should be hired before Kingsbury.
And Will..yes you are a drunk..and a fool.
Gonna be nice to come on the site and not have to see the Romney adds anymore. Glad to see the trickle down economics work for the site for a few months though.
#7 Obviously all that money isn’t enough to satisfy him and he clearly wants what Obama has. Not only will he never, ever get it Obama did it twice. Suckit losers.
Speakin of the IU players….when they were talking about it on ESPN this morning, the sports caster that had to say Peter Jurkin was trying his damnedest not to crack a smile. His parents must really hate him because around the time he would be born those to names were well on their way as slang for more than just names.
Oh and for all you Obama supporters (and no I dont vote and yes I can complain all I want. Its part of my freedom of speech) all I ever seen them talk about when it pertains to Obama is where he went on vacation, which was about every week. And if he was shooting hoops. He hasnt done shit besides threaten to fine people who cant afford health insurance (and how can you afford the fine if u cant afford insurance) so dont act like hes something special cause they couldnt care less about u unless your a huge donor to their campain.
I really like this guy he seems like he can relate to his players and if youve watched AM once this year you can tell this guy knows what hes doing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uemZ3Y36CXk&feature=related
The movement has begun
ERIC MANGINI and im sticking to it till we talk about a candidate thats better that we might actually be able to get
Well, if he doesn’t coach well at least he will be easy on the eyes. I say HIRE him!
Kingsbury sure has some impressive statistics. I believe you really have to look at how he would run the program and who he would hire as his assistants. Does he have enough experience to take complete charge of a major college program? Another product of Mike Leach. Toss him in the mix with other good offensive coaches like Dykes, Helfrich, Hudspeth and Malzahn. Like Dykes he might have some Texas connections recruiting.
Gruden=”CHUCKY’S CATS”!
