Another big name headed for Operation: Win?

Leading up to National Signing Day, there were whispers that the Cats could be adding a transfer, but nothing materialized.  On today’s Wahoo Sports Buzz, Jeff Brohm potentially put a name on that player in saying that former Trinity and current Ohio State linebacker Jordan Whiting could be looking to head back to the Bluegrass and play for the Cats.  Whiting was rated as a four-star player coming out of Trinity as a senior and redshirted as a freshman before playing in all 13 games this past season and registering 2 tackles.  He is also due to serve a one-game suspension for “accepting a discount”.  And he would be one heck of a bargain for Joker Phillips – even if his measurables aren’t on Handsome Jimmy’s level.

If he’s as good as you all are saying then I’m pumped to have him. I just didn’t think those stats were very impressive.

He was primarily a special teamer last season.

#5 Whiting was a redshirt Freshman in getting those states. And, not to overstate the obvious, but he attends OSU! A little bit harder to get on the field there and make an impact as a RS Freshman then at UK, right?

Well, I’m not going to complain about two tackles. That’s two more than I’ve ever had.

So, we’d have him in ’12, and have him for 2 years after sitting a total of 2 seasons and with 1 season of experience?

    I’m sold.

2- Yeah, He was at OSU. He played in all of the games but never started. 2 tackles is very deceiving when your playing behind NFL caliber players. This is a great pick up.

So assuming he has to sit out this season.. We’re looking at having a 22 year old Sophomore? Crazy

11, I think you are right. Already redshirting, this kid has to burn a year of eligibility to transfer. Unless he was transferring TO OSU, then they would make him sit out 5 games the year after his senior year…

Just because this cat was highly rated out of HS doesn’t mean anything. Do you guys remember our savior on our basketball team Vargas. Let’s pass on Whiting and save the scholarship….nevermind, nobody wants to play football for UK anyways, go ahead and give it to him.

If any of you guys on this site like to read books,(and that’s pretty doubtful)you all should purchase my book. See you in Daytona!

I think it was Greg Brohm who runs that show. He is good on there even if he is a UofL fan. Him and Steve Romines (guest host today) the UK fan do a good show. 1080…9am weekdays before Matt.

Dawson will be doing the same thing within the next two years. A 4 star LB out of KY= inflated numbers! They play with the big boys and realize maybe they could get better at UK by actually getting on the field, playing hard, and improving. He was stupid to go to OSU in the first place. Kiffin took Dawson, just because he knew how bad UK wanted him. He won’t see the field for 2-3 years if he stays that long. Seriously, if you could get an LB with the same stats as Dawson from TX, Florida, or Cali, which one would you want? Well, obviously the competition is better in those states. Therefore, these guys don’t get a chance at top 10 type schools. STAY HOME!!! help build something!!!

THIS KID IS A GREAT PLAYER, BUT WILL LIKELY NOT SEE THE FIELD AT OSU OTHER THAN SOME SPECIAL TEAM WORK. OSU IS JUST STACKED AT LINEBACKER AND THEIR 2011 RECRUITS AT THAT POSITION ARE THE BEST IN THE NATION THIS YEAR. LOVE JORDAN,,,,,GREAT PLAYER,,,,,
