Angel Nunez Planning to Join Madness List

In the continuing story of every high school prospect in the nation coming to Lexington in a couple weeks, 2011 forward and one of the nation’s top prospects, Angel Nunez is planning a trip to Big Blue Madness, according to this report by Adam Zagoria. Although things are completely set in stone yet, Nunez would be joining a list of visitors that is nearing the double digit mark including CJ Leslie, Tobias Harris, Kyrie Irving, Michael Gilchrist, and the list goes on.

Nunez is originally from Massachusetts but played on the summer circuit with the NY Gauchos, Rod Strickland’s former AAU organization. Nunez and his mentor Eric Martinez’s Dominican heritage give them common ground with UK assistant Orlando Antigua. He is ranked as the #13 small forward on and #11 at that position on Rivals. Nunez has yet to receive an offer from Kentucky, but does hold offers from the likes of Louisville, Arizona, UConn and Indiana.

With all the excitement surrounding Big Blue Madness this year, which Nike Basketball has even picked up on, the game is looking to be one of the most hyped Madness’ in UK’s history and has probably already surpassed the amount of star power in the form of key recruits that will be attending. In more ways than one, this year’s Madness will go down as one of the most important in UK’s long and storied basketball history.

Other notes:

– Rivals’ Jerry Meyer reports that Duke has been removed from Brandon Knight’s list of suitors. Kentucky, Kansas and UConn are the schools getting official visits from Knight, while home schools Florida and Miami are going to get unofficial visits. Knight also leaves open the possibility of taking an official visit to Syracuse.

– Terrence Jones may or may not have removed Kansas from his list. reported that Terrence had removed Kansas from his list, but his mother told Adam Zagoria that they are still in consideration. Jones had also told KU site that he had not removed Kansas as of yesterday. If Kansas were to be removed, Jones would be down to UCLA, Washington, Kentucky, Oregon, Arizona and Oklahoma.

– The love affair between Jelan Kendrick and Kentucky has recently gained a little more heat. While speaking to Kendrick last night, he confirmed that Kentucky was still under consideration and there looks to be efforts on both sides to get him onto campus soon.

I enjoy basketball, Kentucky sports and extremely short walks on the beach, followed by a nap. Sorry ladies, I'm taken.
