Angel Delgado transfers to Huntington Prep

987538

After an impressive summer circuit, 2014 PF Angel Delgado is transferring to Huntington Prep. The 6’9″ Delgado, formerly of Redemption Christian Academy in Troy, New York, will play his senior season for Rob Fulford’s squad, which, of course, included Andrew Wiggins last season. He’ll join a loaded squad, which includes Josh Perkins, Jalen Lindsey, and Montaque Gill-Caesar.

Delgado is considered the 54th best player in the 2014 class by Rivals, but is expected to make a jump in the rankings after an impressive performance at last week’s Peach Jam. So far, he’s got offers from Louisville, Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Virginia and others, but Calipari may extend one soon. Cal and the staff have had their eye on Delgado for a while now. Delgado’s AAU coach Dana Dingle played for Cal at UMass, and attended high school with Orlando Antigua and his brothers at St. Raymond’s. In fact, the Antigua family has known Delgado since he lived in the Dominican Republic, and he may play for Antigua’s DR Junior National Team later this summer.

Watch him work:

Didn’t Dieng and Wiggins have the same host family? It seems that if he goes to Huntington Prep he most likely will not be a CAT.

It has long been rumored that the Huntington coach, Fulford, is next in line to become a uofl asst. Pitino as stated that he expects Kevin Keats to get a head coaching job after this season. I would say uofl coulf have an edge. I think between uk and uofl, one will get Lyles and the other will get this kid.
