An interesting twist… Florida State is going abroad this summer
.jpg)
If Andrew Wiggins plans to wait until the fall to enroll in college classes, like his host mom said earlier today, what does that mean for Florida State’s chances?
As Tomahawk Nation pointed out, Leonard Hamilton’s team will take its once-every-four-years foreign trip this summer. If Wiggins holds off on attending school until the fall to travel with Team Canada, he will miss the entire trip and summer practices with his new teammates. That would mean, if Florida State is his pick, he will be joining the team late after a month or two of team bonding, practicing and basketballing.
Maybe that’s what Lesley Thomas meant when she said the summer will be a factor in his decision.
Interesting.

Thats what i read into it… kids got a helluva lot coming up quick, takin this last summer to relax and be a kid is what id do in his position
I really want wiggins!!! But, with that being said, ill have to agree with an earlier post and state that if he is to pick another school, ill be rooting for the Noles! I don’t think any coach would hold the whole “summer” thing against the kid who to some is the best since LBJ. In honest opinion…best “fit” is UNC (legit title contenders where he would be THE center of attention with decent help across the board. But if he goes by his “standards”, its gotta be UK. He said it himself, he wants to win a title…best chance=BBN!
Cal was just quoted earlier this evening saying that Kentucky is not for everyone.
We couldn’t find a US airplane for the pic… Go china I guess
3. did he really? i need some proof.
My bet is he’s going to FSU, which is fine. I would love to have him here in Lexington, but if the Noles get him then he probably won’t cause us any problems in March anyway, and would be a thorn in the side of Duke and UNC (which is always appreciated). Either way, our Cats have the pieces to win it all again next season. I’m just glad the Wiggins saga is finally going to come to a close.
HE IS GOING TO FLORIDA STATE! Now move on, there is nothing more to see people.
Dude, Florida fan, I see you on here all the time. You’re on here more than most Kentucky fans and that’s really, really sad. Perhaps you should reevaluate some things in your life.
I guess the final word has been spoken. gog8tor said it in all caps, SO IT MUST BE TRUE!
7. You also said randle to Texas, twins to Maryland, etc.
@gog8ors… whats it matter to a gator fan if we get wiggins or not… cats are gonna destroy FL either way… whats the diff in a losing by 20 or 30???
Sorry to burst your bubble boys but I’m not feeling sorry for you. UK almost got every number one ranked player at all five positions this year so no pity here. I’m glad he chose FSU over UK, NC and KU. You are overloaded as it is, Wiggins would have just been ridiculous added to your roster.
Breaking….Andrew Wiggins to Austin Peay, shocks the world
Gators are gonna have a lot of talent themselves this coming season so let the games begin. UK isn’t leaving Gainesville without a loss, you can count on that! Go Gators!
His decision will be something I see on twitter and say… “oh really” no matter where he chooses to go.
I am starting to wonder if the rest of our team will want to play with him. One kid never hung a banner in Rupp… ever
Yeah, bc Florida has really dominated UK the past 4 years under Calipari in Gainesville…
Wiggins to Kansas. Loves the spotlight and fan attention of UK but not the idea of playin with so many good players. Gets a good crowd in an easy conference to Star in. Just relaying what a friend of his told me.
Kentucky has always been the leader for wiggins. Do not listen to all the pundits/ quasi expects picking FSU. This reminds me of coach calipari’s comments about what they wish rather than what it is.
Wiggins has been cal’s priority for two years, again he will start and we are the best chance to win(type in wiggins wants to win a championship). If we look at comments/blogs/tweets , they all make UK a no brainer. I lot of us are looking at the negative side of the tea leaves but here are some of the positives
1. Wiggins priority for choice is wining, coaching style and facilities
2. Already part of BBN geographically
3. Coach fulford wants him at Uk, the so called list favors Uk
4. Fulford/care mother/ girlfriend/ classmates can see him and visit also was a reason for fulford wanting selfishly to be close to AW
5. One and done transition at Uk and easy transition from huntington to lexington and future degree plan
6. Best tv exposure
7. Can hook up with Wiltjer for Canadian national team for 2016 summer team-we are ok with him playing and signing up June 10th for Canada team
8. If not to uk would just tweet and not be in front of school, who want him at Uk, or pass uk fans on the outside etc.
7. Playing with best players
8. Winning covers all issues and insures no fall in draft status
9. Less chance of being injured by double teams or trying to take him out when the best scorer and main scorer on other teams inclluding kanas, unc
10. Wiggins brother comment on uk not best fit read the whole commentary that is still Andrews decision- from family can infer it was down to two
11. The clincher is above, can’t go abroad with summer plans and now down to uk
12. See cn2 video posted again today we will win for sure naming all his teammates with a smile
13. Finally BBN biggest college fan base in western hemisphere
gogators, what’s the deal? You and I both know no self-respecting Florida fan EVER wants anything good for FSU and vice versa.
They do when they hate Kentucky more than FSU.
Yes, what #18 said ^^^^^
#18: to your list of number 13 — who is the biggest in the eastern hemisphere?
#22, not sure about universities in europe or China etc
