In case you’ve never “stopped by to vote” like he often used to suggest in the comments section, KSR commenter TheBigBooyah has his own blog called Big Blue Booyah which I usually stop over and check out when the commitments to KSR, work and the rapidly increasing family allows. He does an excellent job of keeping you up to date on the historical significance of each day and today he provides this interesting nugget: On this day in 1990, UK found an uncounted victory over Louisville in 1914 and, thus, entered into a tie with UNC for all-time wins. This might be something you’re well aware of, but I’ll expose my fanhood here and admit I’ve never heard this. Not only was this great from the standpoint of moving into a first-place tie, it makes the story even better that it was an after-the-fact victory over Louisville (their first meeting) is what made it possible.
So, shout-out to TheBigBooyah for digging this up and to the Filthy Cards and UNC, I think “booyah” actually sums it up the best. What a coincidence. And, don’t forget to stop by and vote if you’re bored.
