Amile Jefferson down to Duke and NC State

According to Adam Zagoria and his infinite amount of sources, Kentucky is out of the running for 2012 power forward Amile Jefferson. Zags source said it is down to Duke and NC State, with Duke in the lead 60/40. Kentucky was on Amile’s list but his family said privately that he’ll be taking his talents to a school in the First In Flight state.

The news shouldn’t be too devastating to Kentucky fans. Jefferson was somewhat of a second option for UK, as the staff is high on Anthony Bennett and confident they’ll reel him in. UK’s pursuit of Amile Jefferson had slowed down over the past month or so, and when Calipari flew to Massachusetts last weekend for the Hoophall Classic, he didn’t even catch Jefferson in action. He arrived for Nerlens Noel’s game at 4:00 on Sunday, immediately after Jefferson’s 2:00 game.

If Bennett ends up somewhere other than Kentucky, then we can talk about losing Amile Jefferson. It’s all Anthony Bennett until then.

Go Cats.

So the SEC had the two best football teams in the land this year, and if we could count Missouri as a member this season, we’d have #1 and #2 in the basketball polls this week.

Here, I will do my best impression of a UL fan:

I watched him, I was NOT impressed, he will just ride the pine where he is going. Enjoy being a GPA booster! I’d rather have a project/diamond in the rough and somebody who cares about the school than some “Superstar” who is here just for NBA daycare. Good luck with this project.

    *And scene*

(Please guys, don’t act like UL fans))

Jefferson saw Cal just landed Willis. Guess old boy was concerned with Willis getting all the playing time. If he doesn’t want to compete for time, we don’t want him anyway.

Pretty pathetic that a Tardinal fan would come here pretending to be a Hoosier fan. Although given how pathetic the filthy birds are this year and the Tardinals lack of loyalty & self esteem probably not shocking.

Wouldn’t Jefferson be a year ahead of Willis. Highly unlikely playing time was going through his head.

and believe it or not, not everyone wants to play for UK.

#6 Poythress committing is irrelevant, Cal will take both if he wants ex. wall/bledsoe, cousins/orton, knight/lamb. DD works just fine with two forwards. I still see Wiljter coming off the bench next year, unless he learns to defend.

Honestly, from the very beginning, I wanted Anthony Bennett. That kid will have a bigger impact at the level than Tony Parker or Amille Jefferson, in my opinion.

Pretty simple guys, there is only so much $$$ to go around. And finding a bag man for these kids is not easy. Got to get those layers between myself and Cal. we aint going down with the ship.

Jefferson is a real student athlete and Kentucky offered him only half that equation. No player with a brain that seriously looked at Stanford or DUKE is going to waste time taking art classes at Kentucky. We all know that a trained Circus monkey could raise the GPA of Cal’s teams.
