All five will enter the NBA Draft

And just like that, they’re gone.

Marquis Teague, Doron Lamb, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones, and Anthony Davis will enter this year’s NBA Draft. Calipari toyed with our emotions by announcing Davis, Jones, and Lamb’s departures first, but he said he was just trying to scare some other coaches by splitting up the group’s announcements. I think he gave everyone a small heart attack in doing so.

We’ll have more in a bit…

I love having Wall, Big Cuz, Bledsoe, Knight, Free Enis, Jones, Lamb, MKG, Davis, Teague. Archie, Noel, Alex, Ryan, and possibly Anthony welcome buckle up lets enjoy the ride. We would not have had all those guys without the other guys moving on and making more money in two or three years than I make in 10 or 20. Congrats guys!

Happy for the guys that they are moving on with their dreams but still super sad. I was so hoping we would at least get 1-2 of them back. It is times like this where I am both happy and upset at Cal. Cal recruits the best of the best and helps to get them ready for the NBA BUT if the guys really want to come back to UK he still insists that they go. I guess its the tradeoff that we have to deal with in order for him to recruit so well but I still miss getting close to some of the guy for several seasons not just 1 or 2. Happy about #8 but for some reason I have a void in my big blue heart tonight…………:(

Sad and proud day for UK basketball. Hopefully, other young men will follow. ESPNU talking heads say it will be difficult year for the young Cats. Biggest problem will be no older players to build a nucleus around i.e. junior or senior except for Narrows. What do others think?

I’ve been watching the special after the decision and I was wondering why Dino Gaudio disliked us so much. Then he answered the question. He coached Wake three years ago when we destroyed them in the tournament. Everyone gets to have their opinion, but we all know there are a few people out there that always seem to have something negative to say about UK and Dino’s one of those guys. Oh, and ESPN, it’s Polson not Paulson.

Who do these d-bags on ESPNU think they are? Biancardi said that if UK makes the Sweet 16 next year, Cal should be the Division I, II, and III National Coach of the Year. He is still butthurt about our team putting his out of the tourney two years ago. How can UK be preseason 1 or 2, yet these assclowns say it would be an achievement for us to make a Sweet 16? I agree that it will be more difficult next year without returning starters, but let’s be real…Harrow is not just “any” JU-CO transfer. He will be a leader on next year’s team. He practiced with our squad every single day this year, and he can provide a solid veteran presence next year. Biancardi can suck it!

I think of it this way. If there had been no one year rule Kentucky would not have won a championship because some of these players would not have gone to any college. So thanks that JOnes and Lamb came back. If mIller had been good enough his freshman year he would not have stayed either.

  90. Rusty The Magic Fish

Think for a minute. What if Harrow fouls out or gets hurt? Who plays point guard? Goodwin? Who plays the other guard spot?

Please don’t say Polson. We aren’t going to win a lot of games with Polson playing major minutes.

Who plays forward? Poythress and Wiltjer? Who backs them up?

The Cats have a good nucleus for next year. I’m excited but we need to reload in a big way. We need at least 2 more top recruits. Three would be better.

Rusty the fish- dude, kick back, relax and sip the nectar of #8. We have had nothing but nearly complete roster turnover in each of Cal’s 3 years. Elite 8, the final four and the #8. Let’s wait until Cal fails to re-load the roster before wringing our hands and biting our fingernails.

Especially happy for Marquis Teague. He made the right decision by coming to Kentucky. If he had gone to Louisville he would have ridden the bench behind Siva and would have only seem limited playing time. Pitino only plays freshmen when he has no choice but to do so. Behanan played because there was no available upperclassman for that spot. Good decision Marquis and good luck to you and your fellow Kentucky teammates in the NBA.
