Alex Poythress Has a HUGE Game

alex

I cannot wait until Alex Poythress arrives in Lexington. He is my favorite player in the 2012 class and I predict he becomes a multi-year college star. His performance today only verifies that belief. In a holiday tournament this afternoon, Poythress had 47 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists in leading his team to an overtime victory. It continues his string of sterling performances this year and showcases that the name Alex Poythress is that of a future UK superstar.

Matt, how does him having a huge game ‘verify’ that he will become a multi-year college star? Is there something from today’s game that makes you think he will be a multi-year star, other than his points, rebounds, and assists?

His stats are inflated. Please don’t get me wrong when I say this – Poythress will be good, but basketball in the Clarksville-Montogomery County School System is not strong. At all. He is basically playing against talent that is far, far inferior…the last guy to come out of the CMCSS school system and be productive as a pro was Shawn Marion. And there has been no one since.

So lets tamper the expectations and realize these stats are highly inflated. He will be a good player, but you guys need to back it down some. The competition he is playing against is equivalent to a JV, church league squad.

Some of you folks are so negative…I have seen Poythress play against the best players in America over the summer…he is the real deal and a great player. As for the “multi-year star” comment, it is my belief based on talks with coaches and scouts as of now. But like everything, it could change

I said how much I wanted this guy vs. Stokes. And, some bashed. But, Poythress is the real deal and will be a star at UK.

Take a look at this boy. RyanKleffer.com. And a junior college in the area didn’t even recruit him. Their loss for sure.
