— Are you ready for Arkansas-Little Rock? The Trojans are coming in hot, on a two-game winning streak after opening the season with just three wins in their first 10 games. Both of the recent wins came on the road, at North Texas and Denver. Kentucky will still kill them.
— Over the years, Kentucky has built up a 122-33 record in the city of Louisville, including a 59-18 record in Freedom Hall. The Cats have played in Louisville every year since Freedom Hall opened in 1958, and they’ve won nine of the last 11 games in the city.
— The Kentucky players will stay on the court after tonight’s game to sign autographs for fans. Normally, Kentucky hosts an open practice in Louisville on the day before the game as a treat to the fans, but the practice wasn’t held this year due to the holiday weekend. Coach Cal said his team will sign for 30 minutes to show their appreciation to Big Blue Nation.
— In NBA news, DeMarcus Cousins still has a shaky relationship with the Sacramento Kings and one former UK player wouldn’t mind seeing him get traded. Patrick Patterson said he would love to be reunited with Cousins in Houston. Patterson talks to Cousins everyday and believes the recent troubles shouldn’t reflect on Cousins as a person, but on the entire situation in Sacramento. “It’s just problems in Sac-town,” Patterson said. “That’s all it is.” Patterson said he just wants Boogie to be happy.
