Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Adiós CBS! (Thursday Show Thread)

I am picking up Beisner from Louisville International Airport and we’ll try to make it to the studio for the second hour. If his flight is delayed or we decide breakfast is more important, I’m sure Matt is more than capable of finishing the show. Dave Baker might even stop by – you just never know. Call in at (502) 571-1080 or send a text to (919) 928-1789.

Today’s topics include:

* CBS loses Matt Jones, just three months after parting ways with Charlie Sheen. Classing things up a bit?

* Josh Hopkins, Scarface from Half Baked, and crashing the set of Tan Lines. How will our Thursday afternoon end?

* Darius Miller going to China?

* Matt confesses to listening to [insert ancient country music singer]

The comments game also continues and your participation in the comments’ section gives you a chance to win some money. Each day, the two best comments will be selected by Matt and Drew the Intern and placed into a weekly drawing for $200, courtesy of Fan Outfitters.

Matt was asked to leave CBS because they asked him to cover the Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Matt thought it had something to do with this politician named Weiner.
    Couldn’t make his boss understand.

He thinks he knows what’s going on but he lives in a dreamworld thinking up his own reality at times lol. Why does he think he needs to speculate about everything that happens in the sports world, then actually thinks he’s right about the conclusions he comes to lol

Katherine Anne “Katie” Couric is the most lovely graduate of the university that Thomas Jefferson built
who parents live in Eufala, Alabama, one of the best-named towns in America, who used to work for CBS.
Matthew Anne :Matt” Jones is the most lovely graduate of the oldest university west of the Alleghenies
whose parents live in the equally well-named town of Middlesboro, Kentucky — which, while nestled on the Kentucky side of the Cumberland Gap, bears the further distinction of being one of the few cities on earth built completely inside of a meteor crater — who also used to work for CBS. Talk about your amazing similarities. It’s eerie. They are like twins or something.

From the WIKI on ‘Pure Prairie League’

In September 1978, auditions found Vince Gill (vocals, guitars, mandolin, banjo, fiddle), who had played with the bluegrass outfit Mountain Smoke, as well as Boone Creek(with Ricky Skaggs) and the Sundowners(with Byron Berline). Further auditions brought in LA musician Patrick Bolin(vocals, guitars, flute) in January 1979. This revamped lineup recorded Can’t Hold Back, which turned out to be their last for RCA. Sax player Jeff Kirk accompanied the band on some of the dates of their 1979 tour.
