There will be little parity in college basketball if Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Muhammad team up in Lexington- the odds of UK winning it all will be high

Nerlens Noel and Shabazz could have a transformative effect on the 2012-13 NCAA season

There’s a chance that both Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Muhammad will pick Kentucky

The smart money says Kentucky gets at least one of Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Muhammad

With Anthony Davis likely to declare for the NBA draft, many envision Nerlens Noel as the replacement — a shot-blocking, rebounding extraordinaire with room for growth on the offensive end

If Kentucky doesn’t come out of today with both Shabazz Muhammad and Nerlens Noel, there is a very good chance that Indiana will be the nation’s No. 1 team in October

I was told from a source within the UCLA basketball program that Shabazz Muhammad will be a Bruin. Look for the truth to start leaking any minute. Now let’s just pray we get Noel. Go cats.

Look at Indiana’s Big Ten road record this year. They will be a paper #1 if they are, like Duke is overrated. Dangerous but I don’t care if UK plays with what they’ve got now coming, they won’t win in Rupp.

I doubt we get either of them. I you dont want to play for cal and coming off a championship season, what else is there to offer. Its not for everyone as he says. we will be fine either way.

“sources” said Teague was going to Louisville, Jones was goin to Washington, and Davis was leaning a different direction, and I remember correctly, very few thought Lamb would not choose UK. BUt we see how that all played out.

When Shabazz says he would rather spend his ONE YEAR in UCLA being barely seen, versus at UK contending for a NC and sealing the #1 draft spot, then I will believe it.

    16. i hear you, but its not like UCLA has nothing to offer…..the cheerleaders alone would weight in my decision

I think if we don’t get either it will be due to outside pressure. Both Noel and Bazz have people pushing them to other schools. That is something that is very hard to deal with as a teenager. I think Bazz really wanted to come to UK but with UCLA being at least an attractive option and with his parents pushing him that way it is hard to pass up. Noel, well apparently his mom has connections to Georgetown and they are closer to home so… don’t hate the kids if they don’t pick UK

If we miss on both we still have Bennett, Oriakhi, Jefferson, and heck maybe even Pollard now… hearing some buzz about us getting really deep with Pollard and Jefferson last few days. Maybe that’s a sign that Cal isn’t confident with Noel and Bazz, but it’s nice to know that we already have two top 15 recruits signed.

Think about it… we could miss on both these kids and still have 3 or 4 top 15 recruits and 2 of the best transfers coming in (Oriakhi and Harrow)

    16) Jones did announce for Washington… he just changed his mind. And all the sources on the day of the announcement were saying UK… not UL

    16) I meant that on Teague’s announcement date all the sources were saying he changed to UK.

    14) With Bazz and Anderson and Josh Smith and possibly Tony Parker as well… ya that UCLA team WOULD be a final four contender for sure.

I always get a kick out of sports services ranking teams very high in the offseason because “they’re all coming back.” Florida made a career off of that in the past few years.

Having middling talent return only means you’ll have consistently middling talent.

IU finished 6th or 7th in the Big Ten last year. They had 5 home wins by a combined 9 pts.. They also won, I think 2 road games all year. They won 1 game in the Big Ten tourney. They were lucky to beat VCU(who was not good) to reach sweet 16. How is that the number 1 team in the country?
