I agree with Barkley. Look where Jones and Lamb would have gone this year in the draft. And come on…D-League buses… ridiculous

I think Jones was good enough but he got drafted to the wrong team. Lamb’s stock wasn’t honestly gonna get much better. With all the hype around Anthony who could blame him for leaving. Kidd Gilchrist shouldve stayed and worked on his shot but how easy is it to stay when the whole team is leaving. Teague is a whole different story. Just think if we would’ve had him this year.. a tournament bid wouldn’t even be a question. If you think about it though, instead of playing in the D – League, they all could’ve been playing 30 minutes a game at Kentucky and most definitely would’ve went 40-0. THEY WOULD DEMOLISH GONZAGA.

Why do people always say that Lamb’s stock would not have gone higher? He would have been awesome this year. A starting backcourt of Teague and Lamb would have meant a top 5 team. I am serious. They would be right there for the championship. I can’t help but think those two guys wonder about it.

Who knew …Dunleavy still in he league? It didn’t look that bad to me, if Dunleavy was a little taller it wouldn’t have been a big deal, it looked like Cousins was just making some room….besides, who wouldn’t like to elbow Dunleavy for being a dukie?
    GO CATS!!

I always appreciate Barkley’s willingness to say exactly what he thinks. Most of the time, I agree with him, but not this time. 1) This is primarily an NBA issue and not the NCAA. The NBA sets the rule. 2) RARELY does any 1st round pick have a huge immediate impact on their team. 3)Even 1st round “upper” classmen rarely have a huge impact their first year or two. Just look at last year’s draft. Thomas Robinson, Kendall Marshall, Tyler Zeller, Jon Jenkins, Royce White, Miles Plumlee are all “upper” classmen that were 1st round picks. None of them are setting the league on fire. The LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Charles Barkley types don’t come around real often. Most guys take 2-3 years to come into their NBA game, regardless of how many years they spent in college.

Regarding NBA, why not look at Canada junior hockey, where a team drafts young kids, but they continue to play junior hockey, (college basketball for at least 2 years, have a gauranteed contract when they leave college, receive a stipend from NBA of a specified amount $400/month?, have insurance paid by NBA team, kid can’t leave collge before 2 years, if doesn’t make grades, still can’t leave for two years, after that whatever contract was signed goes into effect, eliminate present limits on first year players contracts, which is a union thing protecting older players salaries, which is unfair, because the new players don’t have a vote until they sign and are locked in for 3 years. This improves the NBA, because they won’t draft as many players on potential (puts pressure on NBA teams to make wise decisions instead of taking chances on first round draft choices on players that can’t fly, and it improves the college game, which is the lifeblood of the NBA. NBA probably denies this, but I don’t want to watch big strong non-talented players dominate skilled players, and only watch NBA to see some excollege kids.
