Aaron Gordon update

The No. 6 overall player in the 2013 class visited Lexington over the weekend. Aaron Gordon is a 6-foot-8 small forward from San Jose, California, who took his last official visit to a college campus before he decides on a school.

He is down to Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Kansas and Kentucky.

The Herald-Leader spoke with Gordon’s coach at Archbishop Mitty after his visit to UK.

Aaron can blend into any situation … With all five schools he’s got; he’ll thrive in whatever system or whatever program he goes to. Just in being how competitive he is, he’s going to find a way to get minutes and get touches and get scores. He’s so versatile that coaches are going to see they need him on the floor, because he gives you a much better chance to win.

Kentucky already has commitments from Aaron and Andrew Harrison, the No. 4 and 5 players in the class, along with James Young, the No. 10 player, and Marcus Lee, the No. 17 player. The 2013 class is already monstrous. But with Calipari still hot on the trail of top player Andrew Wiggins, and the potential to add Gordon, next season could be really scary.

I realize texting/tweeting is always informal, but come on. You should at least know how to spell the names of the schools you have visited. Hopefully, he was just sleepy and couldn’t see what he was writing.

I would LOVE to have AGordon!! He is extremely athletic and fun to watch=== would be a great pick up for the Cayts and have a real shot at a Natl Championship at UK!!

It’s weird that his visit was when the team was out of town. Is that normal? Who showed him around?

Mitch needs to avoid the dumb contract with Petrino. Tell him he doesn’t get a dime if he leaves early, give Petrino a nice big bonus if he stays five years!

I feel so stupid. Of course I know that this is a basketball school, but I have always been an oddball-weirdo type. Sorry guys. I still love UK though.

Double A Ron Gor Don knows the way to San Jose.

    And Lexington.

Cheers to his signing with KENTUCKY.

    Make it happen CAL.

Petrino is a worthless hire. An avowed job whore with zero loyalty and lacking morals renders him equivalent with a piece of horribly odiferous excrement.

Petrino is NOT part of the solution; his hiring would exacerbate an already piss poor problem.

    Move on or More on.

We need this guy. This type of player is exactly what we are missing this year, and was obvious in the Maryland game…very high motor, exceptional athleticism, and can get real physical. Bring him in, Cal.

basically the same thing with shabazz, uk asked the ncaa if wiggins was “clean” and didn’t like what they heard … he’s going to have eligibility issues, things that are going to drag on … he knows lebron’s agent too well and there have been questionable things that are going to be picked apart

There’s a subliminal message in that tweet. He spelled Washington, Oregon, and Kentucky wrong, so they are out. And he said UKansas, when its KU. Therefore, Arizona it is 🙂 (even though I’d be pissed)
