I’m old enough to remember very well when the legislature became involved and forced the universities to play. I wasn’t in favor of the series then, and I’m still not in favor of it. I remember the whining of , then, Coach Denny Crum, the stupidity of former
high school Coach turned WHAS talk show participant, Jock Sutherland, as well as the usual venom from the U of L community, in general. IT’S ALWAYS BEEN A LOSE LOSE situation for UK. U of L needs UK on their schedule to fill their ticket sales. WE DON’T
need U of L. They need UK. I don’t want to do anything to help them. I root for Kentucky and whoever is playing U of L.
CANCEL the series in basketball, football, baseball, volleyball, and, if we play them in marbles, cancel that too.

I agree. UK football needs a rivalry game like it needs a hole in the head. Replace the “L” with a cupcake “W” and UK goes bowling. The SEC schedule is enough. As far as basketball is concerned, if it makes sense monetarily keep it. Otherwise the legislature should stay out of it.

SEC is weak once again. As good as our conference is in football its just that bad in basketball. The only games that we should have problem with is at Florida, Vandy and Alabama. I don’t see anyone beating us at home and there will be some really boring blowouts in a bunch. Not saying we’re that good, just saying the rest of the SEC is that bad.

It’ll be interesting to see if this coach can win road games in the SEC.

I say drop UofL in every sport. There is to much hatred that is generated. People take it to a personal level of actually hating people who cheer for the other team. Get rid of it. In basketball we can replace it with any top program like Duke, Michigan State, Ohio State, or Syracuse. In football it just makes sense to get rid of it.
