A Saturday to Get Your Blog On

This is why you should be careful with vanity plates

So after spending the last three days in a state of continued exhaustion, I am very much looking forward to this Saturday, which we will call Internet Sports Saturday. This is likely the last Saturday until April, in which there will not be a UK game for me to cover, so it is a final chance to watch sports with no rooting interest and the ability to just sit back and relax. With that in mind, today I will be doing the blog all day (unusual for a Saturday) and at some point will do a spontaneous live blog for those on here. I am looking forward to it. A few Saturday morning notes:

— The report yesterday of a secondary violation reported by UK is of very little grand importance. Bilal Batley, the former Grad Assistant now known to the world, rebounded for some players when he was not supposed to by rule. The fact that the NCAA has such rules is a whole nother post, but as one would expect, this will be of little importance. As I tweeted out yesterday, this was not the national writer or story that I had heard about last week.

— When I heard that an athlete had been found to be part man and part woman, I didnt immediately suspect the runner from South Africa, but as of yet the NBA is not doing any such testing, so I guess it couldnt have been Joakim Noah as I originally believed.

— Watch for Tennessee-UCLA tonight. This our first real chance to see if Lane Kiffin is worth the hype. It is much more interesting to me than USC-Ohio State, as we all know the Buckeyes will be killed.

— Memorial service today for Mike Casey, in which players from his era will be telling stories, etc about the former UK great. Should be a great tribute for those who attend.

— Speaking of attending, this week is the Mike Brent Charity Scramble for the former Cats Pause writer who passed away so young. The KSR team will inlcude me, Turkey Hunter, Bobby Perry and Mike Pratt and is destined to finish in 4th.

— Next weekend is a big weekend on the recruiting end as I still think the Cats can have Stacey Poole if they want him on his official visit. The question is whether they will make the push…if they do the son of the former Florida star may be the first 2010 commit.

— Also lots of football recruiting going on everywhere…Jeff Drummond reported last night that Mychal Bailey reaffirmed his commitment to UK, even after heading to JUCO. That is good news for the Cats.

I will be around all day and at some point a live blog will pop up. It will be much more a stream of consciousness day than most weekends so it could be strange. Stay tuned.
