Isn’t it nice to completely overwhelm a mid-major opponent? It just feels right.
And it wasn’t that we just out-talented them. (Of course, with about 4:20 left in the second half, John Wall shows that in transistion, he’s gonna get his.) This Wildcat team is learning. Kentucky didn’t look completely mucked when faced against a zone defense. The team hustled on defense, reaching for steals and jumping out to defend perimeter shooters.
Of course, Kentucky started pulling away when UNCA kept forcing turnovers and tried to increase the pace of the game. The Bulldogs had no control of Kentucky in transition, and the Wildcats pulled away easily in the second half.
Kentucky wins against UNCA 94-57. Kentucky is 7-0 and the Tar Heels loom on the horizon. DeMarcus Cousins scores 24 points, John Wall has 12 points and 14 assists, and Mark Krebs attempted a 3-pointer (but missed).
