If you have read this site for a long time, you know that I am a big fan of Mark Krebs. The combination of the kid’s intelligence, sense of humor and positive disposition has always made him one of my favorite guys on the team and that has continued into this year. Thus it was very difficult for me to read this past weekend, the story of Mark’s mother Terri and her battle with terminal cancer. Krebs’s mother has had cancer for the past eight years and as the story above showcases, that cancer has become terminal and has had a severe effect on her quality of life. As her son enters his Senior season, his mother’s health weighs heavily on his mind and Jerry Tipton does an excellent job of illustrating how both are handling the situation.
I hope everyone takes a minute to read the above story and ponder the Krebs situation. The ending to the article above is heartwrenching and the thought of seeing Terri Krebs with her son on Senior Day is one that the entire Big Blue Nation will cheer for. We often forget how difficulty strikes all people, no matter their situation in life, and that disease and health issues know no basketball status. As you watch Mark Krebs this year, think of his mother and say a prayer for her health and well-being.
And if you are going to be in Northern Kentucky this weekend, there will be a fundraiser for Mark’s mom on Friday night. The details are below and all help would surely be appreciated.
