A new UK coaching hire

FootballScoop.com, a website that never seems to be wrong about coaching hires, is reporting that Kentucky has hired Mike Cassity to coach the defensive backs. Cassity spent the past two season as seconday coach at Marshall. Prior to that, he served as defensive coordinator at Louisville from 2004 to 2007.

Cassity is a UK grad and a native of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Welcome aboard.

I wish KSR had some kind of “bot” (or uhm, intern?) that/who would
automatically delete every idiot who says “first”.

He’s a great guy – used to play drinking games with him and Frank LeMaster. Hell of a coach, too. Great hire!

How dare a guy that has coached at Louisville take a coaching job at Kentucky!!!!! What if someone who coached Kentucky took a job at Louisville (OK, now you see the joke I hope). UK fans hate Pitino for taking the UL job. Yes, I realize this is not the head basketball job but the same principle applies. Should UL fans hate Mike Cassity now???

12 – maybe you should look at the rest of Cassidy’s background (like where he went to school and where else he has coached) before making not smart comments.

WOW a washed up reject, with UK ties what the F is new! lets just dig up the remains of jerry Claiborne! This is staring to piss me off! One day people who have ties to UK football, are not worth a damn! I want someone who was or is a winner! I want someone with Bama, or LSU or hell anyone besides here. Is this not insanity!

With Towels comming in next year, why not hire a hot shot passing coach and keep Joker & Sanders as far away as possible from play calling?

IMO that’s Joker’s only hope to remain at Ky. Go young and exciting, building for the future, and Cat fans will come on board with Joker. But it looks to me like Bill Cury and Tim Couch all over again.
