A look inside the new Wildcat Lodge

Anyone up for a game of pool in the new Wildcat Lodge?

To those who are unimpressed, just know that this is one room. The movie theater backs up to the pool table. There is A LOT more to see than just this.

Somebody needs to remind the players not to play strip billiards with that table unless they first confiscate everyone’s smartphone.

Those doorways are 8 feet high. I couldn’t hit that fire alarm without a running start.

Friend, either you are closing your eyes to a situation you do not wish to acknowledge, or you are not aware of the caliber of disaster indicated by a pool table in Wildcat Lodge.

Wellllllllllllll, ya got trouble, my friend . . .

Love the banners. There is plenty of room for #9 and #10. Then they will have to update the room. Hopefully it will happen real soon!

“this” Lodge looks slightly better than the lodge when I worked there back in 96/97 & 97/98.

    (ie: slightly = 100x)

17- nope. Still believe they should be paid small stipends. When you come from poverty as many top athletes do (unfortunate truth), and you are not allowed to have a job (because of the previous abuses and no show jobs that the NCAA is afraid of), you tell me how you travel home from campus when a relative passes away, or some other emergency arises.

2 round-trip flights from Los Angeles to buffalo for the loss of a close family member last week cost more than 1500 on late notice. You and I might just put that on a credit card and pay it next month. But when these kids make the schools, the bowls, the suits that plan the bowls, cbs, espn, fox, NCAA, and plenty of other entities money hand over fist; there is no reason they shouldn’t get a small taste for specific situations.

For under 50million, you can give EVERY scholarship athlete in football and basketball $3500 a year. 50 million is all of 15 to 20 commercials during the BCS championship game. (115 football schools * 80 players (9200) plus 350 basketball schools * 12 players (4200).

3500 goes a long way to a college kid who might otherwise be dead broke.
