A Crazy Day of College Football

michigangirl

What a great afternoon of football! Some highlights:

— Charlie Weis and his front butt found a way to blow it again, this time losing to the best Freshman QB named Forcier that I have seen. The Big House was rocking, they kept showing the same (one) cute Notre Dame student and Weis screwed up the time management at the end to give the Wolverines a chance to pull the upset. Big win for Rich Rodriquez and proof those extra hours of practice do come in handy.

— The Dirty Orange lost at home to a bad UCLA team, proving that my decision to withhold judgment on Kiffin until after last week was correct. The Vols had first and goal to win the game and had four running plays that could not get them in. Watching the Kiffin boys and Ed Orgeron on the sideline suffering was somewhat pleasurable, but in the end this ultimately falls on the QB. Jonathan “Straight outta” Crompton is just awful and no amount of coaching can change that.

— Tonight Houston proved it was day closer to you (a shout out for all you Larry Gatlin fans), as the Cougars upset Oklahoma State. The “I’m a Man; I’m 40” coach couldnt take the kudos he got from the national media, as the Sports Illustrated cover jinx reared its ugly head once again. Houston scored 45 points and basically ran all over the Oklahoma State defense….which doesnt say a lot about what Georgia will be doing on offense this season.

— I still dont like Tim Tebow and you cant make me.

Tonight is Ohio State-USC and Georgia-South CArolina. We will update as the night goes on.

I wont be on tomorrow, but make sure and listen to the Weekend Sports Buzz streaming on Louisville Sports Buzz and on 970 AM in Louisville. I will be on there the rest of the Sundays of the year, and this week Chip Cosby will join Dave Ragone to talk Cats and Cards. Check it out.
