This damn Monster.com sure is confusing.
We knew it was coming, but today it happened. Auburn dismissed former Hal Mummian Tony Franklin as offensive coordinator after his spread offense landed the Tigers at 104th in the country in total offense. Franklin’s new scheme has only netted five touchdowns in four SEC games (including that dreadful 3-2 win over Mississippi State) for the Tigers, which is the total opposite of their video game output on NCAA 09. Still, Franklin had head coach Tommy Tuberville’s endorsment as of Monday when he said “We’ve just got to look ourselves in the eye — all of us, not just Tony — and find ways to score more points and win games. It’s going to get better.”
Apparently, he changed his mind. Tony Franklin, the Tigers hardly knew ya.
