    Lets see here…
If you take the crowd tonight and subtract the average number of comments Ally T and Kristen G get on their posts… You would have something like ~50,816.
The #’s don’t lie. They bad.

Was there and excitement better than the football. We’ ve gotta be patient and give Stoops a chance. Really lacking at skill positions especially receivers! Need help from Freshmen!

#7 you can call it anything you like, but I was there and buddy and I guessed 50k before I even saw the announced number. Stoops, Couch, Brown, Elliott all sounded humbled by the great turnout, this should put us in the top ten Natinally for a spring game

    11) Deacon, sadly i agree.
You need quarterbacks and receivers to win…
All the other positions are just filler.

of necessity, we couldn’t get to Lexington until right before gametime. We ended up having to walk from The Chandler Medical center area to the stadium – there were no spaces

rob – 50,831 ain’t gonna mean jack when you can only win maybe 1 game in the SEC. no chance UK beats Vandy next year. good for that CATS but fans in the stands don’t win da games, players on the field is what really matters.

18} For first three years I will not equate wins to success for this staff. They need to be able to get their players here and teach all players their system. Now if we were in Big East or ACC we could maybe compete this or next year. In the SEC I want to see us improve individually and as a team. I want players who play their a$$ off each play. I want players that look like they know what they are doing. If this staff keeps getting the talent they have in such a short time UK will compete in the SEC within 3-5 years. My main concern right now is keeping this staff together for a while. And by the way post #18 you are an IDIOT.

    15. How did we beat Florida? Seriously, do they care about anything?

    18. Who’s to say the CATS couldn’t win more than one game in the SEC next year? Missouri and Tennessee are both at Commonwealth and are both winnable games. Plus UK tends to steal one or two in conference every year, except for last year’s trainwreck. I think UK could win 3 or 4 SEC games next year. Just my opinion. Oh by the way, I was there. At least 50,000 was there. No parking anywhere. And Jalen Whitlow played outstanding.

@ 18: UTENN, Vandy, Mizzou, and even UGA are winnable. All it takes is the right staff to steer these kids in the right direction, what I’ve seen today in the Blue/White game was something I didn’t see for years in UK football. They actually made football plays, they actually utilize screens, I’ve actually seen better spacing in the front lines so the RB can cut right through. I actually seen better QB protection, and finally, I actually seen better hands today, that is the most important part of our air raid offense, our players now can actually CATCH THE DAMN BALL.

All of this is the product of our coaching staff, we have a REAL coaching staff, finally.

For those questioning the legitimacy of the attendance numbers, there were blue jacketed men at the gates with clickers in hand. Plus, if you do the math, there are about 40,000 lower seats and 23,000 upper seats. Lower was full, upper was half full. 40,000+12,500=52,500. So, IMO, 50,831 is absolutely reasonable. Haters can hate, but in a few years, won’t be anything to hate. Go Cats!

Sorry, fat fingered the numbers. 40,000+11,500=51,500.

  25. i was there too
    2:01 am April 14, 2013 Permalink

lower level was not full. tons of seats. i’d say a conservative estimate was atleast 35k pushing closer to 40k.

  26. Wildcatsteeler
    2:15 am April 14, 2013 Permalink

@25 Ah how can we deny your math of “tons of empty seats?” Holds 40k. 5k empty could easily classify as “tons.” So that’s 35k without counting the upper. So we’ll trust your “my opinion sight count” over people actually counting it? Do us a favor and don’t go there anymore. Or at least don’t commment on it.

I was there, I would have guessed 43,000. The lower bowl was mostly full, but there were a few empties, not many. Regardless, 50,000 or 45,000 it was great seeing an energized crowd back at commonwealth. Also many stayed in parking lot to tailgate/party. Total attendance in and around the stadium was probably close to 60,000.

definitely more people there than most games year… and that’s without an opposing teams visiting section. Proud of BBN showing up last night… huge step in the right direction for cultivating a great atmosphere for football. Cant wait until September

    8:56 am April 14, 2013 Permalink

Yeah right 35,000. Who cares if you were there or not? Look at the picture above. CWS holds about 70,000 when completely full. The photo above was taken from the west endzone and clearly shows more than half the studium is full. The whole lower bowl is full — and by full I mean there are no areas with empty seats. Obviously, not every single seat number has a person in it, but practically full. The upper decks appear to be 2/3rds full and at least half full. The picture doesn’t lie.

The lower bowl holds probably close to 45,000-47,000 and the upper maybe around 20,000-22,000.

    51,000 seems pretty accurate.

@ 14: No it all starts with the big boys, I do not care how good of a QB you are, if you can’t get rid of the ball in time, then it’s game over.

A solid O line and a Solid D line are your foundation for success, there is a little football 101 for you.
