2013 Commitment Derek Willis on Campus Tomorrow

It looks as if Kentucky’s only committed player so far in the 2013 class will be on campus tomorrow. Perhaps Derek Willis will be taking in the Kentucky vs. Kent State football game. Be sure to wave at Willis if you see him at Cane’s. Also, tell him to keep working on the Harrison twins.

Kenji,,,,,,have you seen this kid play ? The fact that Pitino lived in Mt Washington and wanted this kid bad and the fact that coach Cal offered,,,,,that is good enough. I trust they are better judges of basketball talent than most of the people on the site. In Cal we trust.

I’ve seen him play multiple times over the summer with his AAU squad. He isn’t good.. not UK good, at least. Very much a project. Cal snagged him to piss of Pitino and prove he could have whoever he wanted. Willis was in Pitino’s backyard and from a Cardinal family; it’s an absolute embarrassment to the Louisville coaching staff that they wanted this kid bad and couldn’t get him.

This program needs its Jon Hoods, though. It’s not like we’re dying for scholarships and going to kick a kid off like Pitino or Crean.

despite what has been reported on this site, Nerlens Noel has not been fully cleared to play. He has only been cleared academically. I’m more concerned about 2012.

I am really hoping Noel won’t eligible

Ive seen him play, will be a 4 yr player, not a bad shooter, seen him take it to the rack and dunk during a game, cant blame him for not trying to dominate aau, he has nothing to prove hes already signed with uk,definately dont need to get out and get hurt trying to prove to people hes got game, during the summer. so he can prove it when he arrives at uk, or when Bullitt East wins state this year.

I personally have not seen him play. Have seen many mixed comments about the kids ability. I would not think Cal would waste a scholarship on a kid just to piss off 15 second Rick,,,,but perhaps. I suspect bluestorm is right,,,,the kid has potential and he has his UK scholarship in hand. He does not have to prove anything to anyone. Looking forward to watching him play.
