#16 UK Hoops Take On #5 Tennessee Tonight (And It’s Free! Sorta.)

I know this was mentioned earlier on the site, but it bears repeating.  The Kentucky women’s basketball team takes on the perennial powerhouse Tennessee Volunteers tonight at memorial.  Kentucky is riding a 7 game win streak and is a legitimate threat to win the SEC at 7-2 currently.  The Volunteers are the Volunteers, sitting at number 5 in the polls and 9-0 in the SEC so far.  While the lady Cats seemed to stumble earlier in the year, they have put that behind them and are coming off a complete thrashing of Auburn to the tune of 69-38.

Even more, this game will bring former Kentucky coach and program ressurector Mickie Demoss back to the state, as she is a part of Pat Summit’s staff now at Tennessee.

To top it off, admission is free tonight with a Student ID (and only 7 dollars if you don’t have one.)  If you ever want to catch a women’s basketball game, this is the time to go.  I went to see Kentucky play Tennessee a few years back when they played in Rupp and the atmosphere was incredible.  I can only imagine what it will be like in Memorial.

The game starts at 9 and will also be on ESPN2.

On April 11, 2007, DeMoss held a press conference to announce her resignation abruptly stating “After 30 years of coaching, I just want to step back and reassess what I want to do for the rest of my life.”.[3] Four months later, she returned to coaching by taking the assistant position at Texas.[1]

It was announced yesterday that Tennessee’s star shooting guard is out for the season with a yeast infection.
All the stars are aligned for a big UT upset tonight.

In fact, I draw a great deal of inspiration from people who have overcome handicaps and misfortunes. I have read articles about people who have lost a limb and still compete in bodybuilding contests, climb mountains, compete in triathlons, weight lift, run track, drive race cars and motorcycles, hang glide, snow and water ski, and participate in just about any other sport or physical endeavor you can imagine.Cheap Sports Apparel
