Tubby joining the Internet Gabbers!!!

Everyone is embracing the internet recently….even the Tubbster. On TubbySMith.com (a new site that still needs some content), a weekly journal by Tubby has begun. Here is this week’s entry:

One of the special things about Kentucky basketball is the non-conference schedule we play each year. Here we are, a little over a month into the season, and we’ve already played UCLA, North Carolina, Indiana and Louisville, in addition to DePaul and Memphis. You learn a great deal about your team playing that type of schedule; information that helps the team improve and become the best it can be. Saturday’s game at Louisville — like the UCLA, North Carolina and Indiana games — was hard fought. It was a good win for us (as all wins over the Cardinals are). And even though they are struggling shooting the ball right now, Louisville is a quality team that will get better. Our team had to overcome Randolph Morris’s foul trouble and I thought our guys showed a lot of heart and courage. We got some outstanding plays from some people that we needed to have step up and play well. Jody Meeks was clutch, especially for a freshman. Lukasz Obrzut and Sheray Thomas have shown their leadership qualities all year, even though they have been coming off the bench. I can’t say enough about those young men. I thought in the second half we did the things we stepped up and made our free throws. We took care of the ball better and we showed a lot of patience. We have to continue to do that to continue lowering our turnovers. Now our attention turns to Santa Clara, a very good team that is coming off a road win at Stanford. At 8-3, they’ve won three-straight games and are a good defensive team that also rebounds well. We’re now focused on them. Our kids finished exams last week and are looking forward to concentrating completely on basketball for the next few weeks.

Thanks for reading. Go Cats
