Ryan Lemond’s son meets his boy Eloy

If you listened to yesterday’s radio show, you heard Ryan Lemond’s story about taking his son to see Eloy Vargas, his favorite player, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Friday night. You also might’ve heard that Ryan wrote a guest piece for Larry Vaught’s website about his side of the experience, as a proud father watching his son meet his hero. Young Michael Lemond is undoubtedly Eloy Vargas’ biggest fan and you can feel the excitement from that night — from both Ryan and Michael — in Ryan’s guest piece on Vaught’s Views.

Give it a read this morning, especially if you can relate to the father-son sports moment.

Go Michael.

Go Eloy.

Poor kid, Eloy hardly even played at UK. Nice dude from what I read so a good hero to look up to, if you don’t mind a bench warming hero.

Great story! Made me cry. How blessed Michael is to have two wonderful and loving parents! We need more families like the Lemond’s!

I was listening to the show one day and Ryan had the best/awkward quote I’ve ever heard on live radio. He was telling Matt why he son liked Eloy, Ryan said, something to the effect that Eloy “runs fully erect up court”! There was a long pause and then they carried on. I still laugh out loud when I remember that moment. Gotta love Ryan, his son and Eloy.

That’s awesome. Great article. Ryan seems to be a heck of a good guy and an even better father.

Ryan’s son’s favorite may be Eloy, but by the way Ryan has talked the last two weeks it is evident that his hero is Bobby Knight.

1 I agree-looks more like Eloy than Ryan–perhaps he is adopted. Ryan is a good dude–glad his boy got to do this.
