Karl-Anthony Towns and DeMarcus Cousins have both been given official ratings for the upcoming video game NBA 2k19.
Towns is listed as a 91 overall and Cousins, coming off an Achilles injury, is rated a 90 overall. Both players are considered to be top 5 centers when healthy and it’s no surprise to see their ratings up this high.

Despite being ranked at least a 90 overall, both players are hungrier for a higher rating. If they view being ranked a 90 in 2K as a sign of disrespect, that’s a bad sign for the rest of the league. This is a creative way to add motivation.
If Cousins is ranked a 90, I can only imagine how insanely overpowered the Golden State Warriors starting lineup will be. If someone queues up the Warriors, you might as well go ahead and quit the game. I might purchase the game just to play as the Warriors and see how many people quit before the first quarter even ends.
More ratings should continue to be released as the game inches closer to its mid-September release date. Something tells me another Kentucky big man by the name of Anthony Davis might add another 90-plus rating to the list.
