Another day, another preseason honor for Kentucky guard Rhyne Howard. Added to her third preseason National Player of the Year Watch List in as many days, Howard is making an early mark on her sophomore year.
On Thursday, Howard was named to the Wade Watch List, which is put together by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and seeks to find the best player in all of collegiate hoops. The Wade Watch List recognition is in addition to already being named to the Wooden Award Watch List AND Naismith Trophy Watch List in recent days.

In her season debut on Tuesday against Mount St. Mary’s, Howard posted 14 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and two blocks in the Wildcats 23-point win over the Mountaineers.
Howard enters the 2019-20 season as the reigning SEC and National Freshman of the Year after leading Kentucky to a second-round appearence in the NCAA Tournament. She led the Wildcats in both scoring (16.4) and rebounding (6.6) that year and quickly became one of the premier prospects in the country.
The preseason honors have come in waves for Howard this summer and into the fall. She impressed during her second-year debut, now it’s time to see whats he can do against the best teams in the country.
Kentucky’s next game is on the road against Middle Tennessee this Sunday at 3 p.m.
