Former Kentucky star Karl-Anthony Towns has been suspended two games for his role in an on-court altercation with Philadelphia star Joel Embiid.
In a release by the NBA, both Towns and Embiid will be suspended two games without pay for their roles in the incident on Thursday evening, along with “their continued escalation following the incident.”
The incident occurred with 6:42 remaining in the third quarter of the 76ers’ 117-95 victory over the Timberwolves.

After the game, Embiid took to Twitter to throw shots at Towns, saying “I was raised around lions and a cat pulled on me tonight lmao. Got his mom giving middle fingers. That’s some SERIOUS REAL ESTATE #FightNight #IAintNoB—–“.

Towns will begin his suspension on Saturday, Nov. 2 when the Timberwolves visit the Washington Wizards.
