Julius Randle’s NBA Summer League Debut

(Jack Arent/NBAE/Getty Images)

After finally signing his rookie contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, Julius Randle had an impressive NBA Summer League debut.  It wasn’t a dominating perfomance, but Randle was able to finish 4-9 from the field and 2-4 from the free throw line.  Along with his 10 points, Julius also pulled down 2 defensive rebounds.  While you’d expect more rebounds from him, the most any Laker had was four.  It’s the summer league, so you have to expect some sloppy games.  The Lakers were eventually defeated by the Pelicans, 73 to 90.

Randle had a nice slam dunk to finish out the 2nd quarter.  The game wasn’t televised on cable, but thankfully someone uploaded it for all to see.  Check it out!

And here’s a good quick highlight of him doing work on the baseline:

Check out second round pick Russ Smith’s stat line, while leading his team from 18 down to win and being chosen for the post game interview.

One and done really isn’t good for these kids in the long run outside of the truly elite: Rose, Davis, Durant, Wall, and Cousins

Can’t fathom how a UL troll would talk stuff about anything going on in the NBA. Amazing that their players are tearing up the summer league. Good for you. There might be one starter on every summer league team and the rest of the summer roster is composed of guys who will never see the court or the league. Troll us on football, not on how are guys are doing in the NBA. Where is samardo Samuels? Wasn’t he highly rated? What about T-will? How about Preston knowles?
