ESPN’s new mock draft has one Wildcat in the lottery

ESPN released a new edition of its 2018 NBA Mock Draft on Monday, and in it, you’ll find one Kentucky Wildcat in the lottery.

The World Wide Leader’s mock projects Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the No. 12 overall pick in the draft, going to the L.A. Clippers via the Detroit Pistons. The pick would give Gilgeous-Alexander $3,179,280 in his first year to compete with Austin Rivers as the Clippers’ starting point guard.

Kentucky’s Kevin Knox falls just outside of ESPN’s mock lottery, going No. 15 overall to the Washington Wizards, where he would join fellow UK alums John Wall and Jodie Meeks.

Then Hamidou Diallo makes it three Wildcats in the mock draft; he is projected to go in the second round to the Dallas Mavericks with the 35th pick.

The 2018-19 rookie salary scale gives the 12th pick $2,649,400 in his first year, not $3,179,280. That’s according to (You can actually sign for 80% to 120% of this number.)

The 2019-20 salary scale gives the 12th pick $3,159,800 in his first year, closer to your number.

    What source did you use?
