DeMarcus Cousins unfollowed the Pelicans on Instagram

DeMarcus Cousins may have tipped us off regarding his future with the New Orleans Pelicans. Cousins unfollowed the Pelicans on Instagram, which suggests he no longer has a future with the franchise.

Cousins will become an unrestricted free agent this summer and there is a big debate over whether or not the Pelicans should offer him a new deal. It’s rumored they’ll offer him a two- or three-year deal at less than the max, but Cousins will want a max contract and should have plenty of opportunities, despite the injury that cut his season short.

When asked about the unfollow, Cousins replied, “cause I’m grown,” in the comments.

It’s worth noting that he still follows the Pelicans on Twitter, so this could be nothing more than an overreaction to a meaningless Instagram cleansing.

Whatever the case, we’re following Boogie wherever he ends up.

    Please go to the Suns!

His legacy will be defined by championships and not earnings. I would like him to land someplace where he can win a championship. If not, he may as well stay with the Pelicans where they might stand a chance.

As much fun as Cuz and AD are, it is really not an idea situation for either player or the team. Cousins should go to the Wizards, Hornets, Pacers, or Blazers. I’d prefer the Wizards so he can play with Wall, or the Hornets because I live in Charlotte.

Just come on up to the Celtics, big guy!

I have a hard time believing the Celts could work out a max contract or even something close. Haven’t looked at it so I could be wrong, but it seems like between adding Kyrie and Gordon, they wouldn’t have enough cap space. Also talk about a crowded front court.

Hayward or Tatum are gone. I’d get rid of Hayward and make room for Cousins.

It would definitely take some doing, and might not even be possible. But I can dream.

The Lakers, if LeBron stays in Cleveland. They would be a great team with a young core of great players plus a marketing dream for his brand!

    Washington needs him.
