Dakari Johnson is killing it in China right now, averaging 22.5 points and a league-high 14.6 rebounds for the Qingdao Eagles. Following Dakari’s life overseas is one of my favorite social media pastimes, and yesterday, he shared these videos from a sumo wrestling practice he attended. They are fascinating.

Given his big personality, it’s no wonder Dakari’s a hit in China. Last month, he was named to the CBA All-Star Game, where he scored 20 points for the North Team, which also included former UCLA star and one-time Kentucky target Shabazz Muhammad. Highlights and pics below:

Will Dakari ever get in the sumo ring himself? Jon Hood asked.

It’s hard to imagine Dakari getting pushed around, but I think those guys would do it.
I’ve been to one of the six grand tournaments in Japan before. They are fascinating and something that should be on everyone’s bucket lists
Sumo in China? Or did ne hop over to Japan?
Didn’t see much “D” being played in those Dakari videos…
