The NBA Summer League is set to begin this evening, where three former Wildcats are set to participate in the initial sessions in Salt Lake City and Sacramento.
The initial four participants? Wenyen Gabriel (Sacramento Kings), Tyler Herro (Miami Heat), and Keldon Johnson (San Antonio Spurs).
Tonight, Johnson and the Spurs will tip things off against the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. ET on NBATV. Then, Herro and the Heat will take on the Los Angeles Lakers at 9:00 p.m. ET on the same channel.
Starting at 11:00 p.m. ET, Gabriel and the Kings will close out the night against the Golden State Warriors, also on NBATV.
Both Salt Lake City and Sacramento leagues will go through a three-day, round-robin style competition with each team playing the others one time. This means you’ll see all three players listed above on three consecutive days at various times (we’ll have the schedules up here at KSR every day, along with the scores and stats of each player after the games).
After these three days, the Las Vegas Summer League will get rolling on Friday and last through July 15, where all 30 NBA teams will participate. There, plenty more Wildcats, including Reid Travis and the Atlanta Hawks, will fight for spots on the official rosters of their respective franchises.
We will post rosters and schedules for Las Vegas when those are released.
Until then, time for Gabriel, Herro, and Johnson to put in work over the next three days.
